This thread will keep up with the results of the pools. Each of the 2-9th posts will keep up with one of the groups, with links to teams, scores, and the overall pool scores that will determine who advances to round 2.

Teams marked with * have clinched a spot in round 2. Teams marked with ** have clinched the top spot in round 2 (none yet, but I'll update these posts after round 3).

In LE's Olympic style pool it was either head to head and then total points scored I believe. Hopefully ties (game ties, not record ties) will be very limited and rare but you never know, I think a three way record tie between teams may be more common and that's where total points scored will come into play.

I believe the tournament is going to be run with playoff rules enabled, so there will be no games that end in a tie. So the only way the tie breakers will come into play is if two (or more) teams end up with the same record after the pools. I'll be surprised if we reach the second tiebreaker (PF-PA), because it only happens if you get 3 teams with the same record (2-1 2-1 2-1 0-3 or 3-0 1-2 1-2 1-2). And I'll be astonished if it gets to the third or fourth tiebreaker.

Obviously Tournaments is the final word on all this, I'm just trying to help out.

Oh, and the toughest pools to come in first are probably A and G (the ones Tombstone and SBWL are in). But the toughest pools to come out of are probably C, F, and H (the ones with 3 gold teams).

Remember, the top two teams out of each pool will advance to the next round. If you go 3-0, you're definitely going on. But you'll probably move on with 2-1, and it's remotely possible to move on with 1-2.
