Also, if so did you select the technician or Boomer?

The archetype doesn't matter. Catch22 has commented that performance is solely determined by stats and all archetype does is change the auto level SP assignments.

But, yes, I've seen a substantial drop off. A K that put it in the endzone every time last season had one TB, and a couple of 50-something yarders. The shorter kicks put the opposition on the 40 to start most drives. That's really unacceptable in pro level play.

Yeah, I know what Catch22 said, but I didn't see any announcements related to kicking at all, and I went from like 71ish on average to the same thing you're saying, seeing some 50-something yarders.

Has to be something up that wasn't mentioned I think.

I saw that. What surprised me was how much he cut it back. I mean he knocked 33% off my kicker's distance.

Good to know, I figured there would be a bigger announcement to go with a 20yd reduction in kick distance.

I mean quite literally I'm tooling around right now with around 130 K and 75ish STR 35ish SPD/70ish AGI with 10+ in Big Boot, and still seeing the majority of my kicks around the 55 yard range. A lot of that is adjustable, but at the same time I find it hard to reconcile a situation where with a 96lolbar in kicking your average kick distance is 56yards There really isn't much more to do as far as boosting stats that are supposed to effect kick distance except perhaps adding some SPD or First Step, which means the max average kick is going to be 60 yards with a perfect build with the odd touch back?

The top 30 kickers in the NFL all average over 61 yards in the NFL so it just kind of strikes me as super odd.

There was good reason for this. AAA+ level Kickers were, if built by the standard slow building cookie cutter kicker plan kicking 80% or more of their kicks as touchbacks.

In the nfl its closer to 30%.

While I am not a fan with the inconsistency that has been introduced (50 yards one kick, over 75 and a touchback the next) I am glad that it was done.

I agree. They just over did it. They needed to scale back the average kickoff by 10 yards. Instead they cut it back by 20 yards or so. Pro-level kickers should be able to put the ball inside the 10 every kickoff, and in the endzone about half the time. As it is, my guy barely gets it inside the 20 now, with 75 STR, 65 AGL, 140 Kicking, 10 BB.

I lost about 10 yards on my KO average.

74.9 last season to 65.4 so far this season.

I've noticed part of it may be stamina related. As a test I have taken 5 in distance runner to alleviate his energy loss and hopefully keep his distance up.

You guys are leaving out the other end of this problem. Instead of your KR getting the ball the front wedge guys are. I have G's and C's with more kick returns than my actual returner so far this preseason. My C fielded a kick and fumbled it to give possession back to the other team at the 50. That's garbage. If my KR coughs it up, fine. But a C shouldn't even be touching the ball let alone you having to worry about a C fumbling a KICKOFF!!

I don't pay attention to 4 cap leagues.

But, the problem is being addressed.

How about FGs? Anyone seen anything different? My K missed a 35 yarder... thats the first one he has missed in the 30-39 yard range in 5 seasons. Its just one kick and it could have just been a bad roll or whatever, I am not that concerned about it. But I am just curious if the larger group in general has noticed any kicks missed that surprised them?

My level 36 missed a 40 yarder, and he was 15/15 from 40-49 last season.

That said, this is for the most part a nice change. I think we might start to see parity in kicker builds again. I realize there's a problem in low level leagues, but low level kickers should be bad, IMO. 27 kicking should not equal a 55 yard KO. The fumbling problem should be fixed, i do agree with that. Those guys should just cover the ball.

I'm new to the kicking biz with a lvl 1 boomer. I understand why my kickoffs are crap, with a strength of 13, that's to be expected at this point. But FGs do confuse me. I'm 100% with XPs so far and 0-3 on FGs. All my FGs so far were 24 yarders. What are XPs? 20? I wouldn't think 4 yards would make that much of a difference. I could see above 30 or 35 being a consistent problem for low levellers, but below that should be (mostly) automatic no matter what level. Like I said, I'm new to kickers and I have a lot to learn, yet. But if this is a game issue and not a build issue, that would be good to know so that I don't have to fret over how to fix it.
