You won't get into a word battle w/ Randy, he's kind of a coward...he talks shit and runs away and let's his teammates (some of which are cool) come fight his battles for him. Then his excuse is "I'm above that", or "I'm an adult"...I call it being a hypocrite though.

I didn't play for Prague last season but I can say this. You guys beat our team last season. I've always believed that as the defending champs you should always get your due and there is that saying "don't bet against the champs" and in some of these threads I can see why you would feel disrespected (power rankings thread, predictions etc), and from what I've seen our team has given you the respect.
You talk about excuses and shit and Randy this Randy that, you're going to keep reading about it because the people on this forum don't let this shit die. Yes, I have read what Randy has said and he'd probably be better off leaving it alone, as you guys will respond and keep it going, so it is on both sides to let it die.

This is exactly how I feel. No one on our team made excuses about anything until recently. We congratulated the Reapers, said good job and see you next year. Do we think we are a better team than the Reapers? Yes we do. If the game was simmed again do we think we would win? Absolutely. But they won and that's all that matters. They deserve the credit. But we were gracious in defeat until some of the Reapers (not all, but some) kept on rubbing their victory in our faces. Ask any one on the American Invaders and I can almost say for certain that none of them would say that we were sore winners when we beat them in the LCG in the first season. We just expected the same and didn't get it (again not from everyone, but a select few).
Now look, I understand Randy is not the easiest person to get along with. I'll be the first to admit that he has a very abrasive personality and comes off as cocky a lot of the time. But that's just how the guy is, and he has reason to be really proud of his team. We play for the guy beacuse he is commited to his team and cares about his players. I'm not defending him because I agree with everything he says/does. I personally don't. But on THIS issue, he didn't talk shit to anyone after the LCG, he ate his crow (as we all did) and gave props to the Reapers. But you guys just kept poking and proding him until he snapped. Did you think that wasn't going to happen? It's almost like you were intentionally trying to rile the guy up so you could have reason to call him a prick again. It's like kicking a dog over and over and being pissed off when he lashes back at you.
I can't speak for all of the Prague Punishers. But I for one just want to let this die. The Reapers are the champs and will continue to be until someone else wins the LCG. Congrats to you, you earned it and deserve it. Now let's just look ahead to this season and all the exciting football to be played.

I own an Alpha team and I was happy to see the Reapers win the championship, but I still feel like the amount of shit Randy's been getting has been completely ridiculous. He's made several strong contributions to the forums and I think we're lucky to have both him and his team in the Eastern European Pro League.

I too think that Randy has been thrashed enough. My crabs statement above was just for pure humor's sake (good or bad). I just want to say that I understand why all the animosity. Yes, Randy said good game, yes they gave their respect...but...it is giving props with all the excuses.
When Prague beat us in the championship game, some of them were very sore losers, and we too had an excuse. Our excuse meant nothing to them and they quickly disregarded the excuse...much like is being done to them now. Randy cannot be a gracious winner or loser...he cannot give props without throwing in a jab somewhere down the line. Much like when he claims to be above it all, and grown up and mature while at the same time jabbing a proverbial stick in your eye because he is a passive aggressive jerk.
However, I think he has taken enough on the chin these past couple of days. It's time for the new season and for everything to begin anew. Prague has to prove, not declare that they are indeed the best team in the league because the best team in the league is the Reapers until (as the Punishers say) proven otherwise. The Reapers have to prove it was no fluke by returning to the Championship game and winning it again.
Let's not forget all of the other competitive teams in this league and the new ones that are now in the pros with much to prove. This is going to be the most exciting and competitve season yet...let's let bygones be bygones from this point forward....atleast until someone starts or instigates a new flame war.
