Western Conference

From Season 13 to Season 14, nearly half of the Western Conference turned over. Ten teams remained and six new teams came in. As it stands right now, the sixteen teams that make up the Western Conference of the Canada Pro League are (listed alphabetically):

Kansas City Gorillas, Manitoba Matadors, Moncton Mosquitos, Moose Jaw Roughriders*, Nebraska Husker Maniacs, North Delta Huskies, Queensland Exiles*, Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen*, Saskatoon Silverbacks*, St. John's Salty Dogs, Tadoussac Whalers, Thunder Bay Bloodhounds, Thunder Bay Wolverines*, Windsor Black Knights*, Windsor Walruses, and Winnipeg Warriors ( New teams in Season 14 noted with an * )

We now know that the Moose Jaw Roughriders have won Canada Pro League's Western Conference and League Trophies and they'll be one of six teams representing Canada in the World League.

Soon we'll know the one team that's gone (moving up), let's take a look at the others we know will be gone also (moving down or merging). So far we know of six teams that won't be back next season...

Moose Jaw Roughriders ▲
Kansas City Gorillas ▼ (Merging with Nebraska Husker Maniacs)
Manitoba Matadors ▼
Moncton Mosquitos (CPU) ▼
Tadoussac Whalers (CPU) ▼
Thunder Bay Bloodhounds (CPU) ▼

For the moment, that leaves ten teams that will likely make up the majority of Canada Pro next season...

Nebraska Husker Maniacs*,
North Delta Huskies*,
Queensland Exiles*,
Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksmen,
Saskatoon Silverbacks*,
St. John's Salty Dogs*,
Thunder Bay Wolverines*,
Windsor Black Knights*,
Windsor Walruses*,
Winnipeg Warriors*

( * denotes a confirmed participant in Season 15... )

Best of luck to the new guys coming up from Canada AAA #1 & Canada AAA #2...

Not 100% sure what's happening to the Rams but they do have their guys resigned and are slated to come back down to CPL West.

Algoma is NOT promoting from AAA1 West. They will be reloading in AA

Windsor will be back next season. We got a lot of recruiting to do, but we'll be fighting hard for a playoff spot!

Looks like there will be a ton of open spots.

Normal promotion + 4 in the west.

Normal promotion + at least 2 in the East from the look of things.

That means at least 10 teams? This means everyone playing in the conference finals in AAA#1 and AAA#2 will be promoted plus a few others.

Looks like I might have another team in the CPL. We lost in the conference finals today after a 16-0 season.

Don't forget that KC Rams and Surrey are coming back down - Marblehead's already said they're starting over, though. That'll take up a couple of the slots though.

Musketeers are reloading.
Sad to see the final remnants of our original roster retiring.
