Not intending to cause another stink but...

Should Ace Flames (#1) have won the MVP of Bort Baggins(#2)?

Both are HB's, both are relatively equal in terms of how much their team features/relies on them, Bort has convincingly better yardage (both raw and adjusted) despite almost 60 fewer carries, they have the same raw tds while Ace takes the lead when stats are adjusted (more on this in a second)... Ace has turned the ball over more.

Seems pretty close... I would give the edge to Bort based on that but you could argue for Ace.

That said... a closer look... Bort had 8 of his games adjusted because of blowouts while Ace only had 5. That is huge imo. Considering the facts above, I think there should be no question that Bort Baggins is your offensive MVP between these two players. Despite having 3 more games adjusted he still has more yardage and it is quite possible those extra adjusted games is what gives Ace more tds when looking at blowout adjusted stats.

8 games blowout adjusted for him too... would that have been enough to move him from #3 to #2... maybe, but Bort Baggins is still your MVP based on the other aspects of the formula.

I thought I explained this to you earlier...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player_awards.pl?player_id=488277

He fell in the rankings after todays game... fell to #3. The player awards page is updated an hour after the games have simmed the league homepage is not updated until after rollover.

So no, he would finish 2nd.

Would be cool if Bort put a system in place so you wouldn't have to do all this work?

Life is full of disappointment. Get used to it.

Cincinnati v. Bortsville game says all you need to know. Ace had 15 carries for 127 yards. Bort had 32 carries for 83 yards, 1 TD and 1 fumble. Not to mention the fact that Cincy was 15-and-1, while Bortsville was not. Just like with real sports, winning leads to more individual awards.
