AVIEMORE, ENGLAND – Glastron Tensil, the all-star TE who first made a name for himself here during 11 seasons with the hometown Aviemore Angels, announced today he is retiring from Goal Line Blitz after a highly successful 14-season career. Tensil will officially retire as an Angel.

His son, Glastron Tensil Jr., currently starts for Aviemore, following in his father’s footsteps.

“I am so grateful to have been in GLF from the beginning,” said Tensil, who finishes his career with nearly 7,500 receiving yards, more than 725 receptions and 40 TDs. “It’s been an amazing run.”

Tensil played for the South Austin Bats for just two games during Season 1 before being traded to Aviemore where he quickly became one of the top TEs in the league. Tensil was able to rack up gaudy stats in one game, and in the next make a huge impact via key blocks that sprung HBs for a long touchdowns, or with clutch third-down receptions that kept drives alive. He also garnered endorsement deals while with Aviemore and quickly became a fan-favorite.

During his 14 seasons at Aviemore, the team went 123-55 and were regular fixtures in Western Europe AAA and pro playoffs and title games.

Following season 14, Tensil signed with the San Sebastian Ibises of the South America AA Leagues. During a two-season stretch in San Sebastian, Tensil caught 15 TDs and accounted for 975 receiving yards, helping lead the Ibises to a Championship in Season 12.

“It was disappointing that we never won the title with the Angels after all those amazing teams we had,” said Tensil, “so it was gratifying to bring a championship to the people of San Sebastian. I’ll always remember those years.”

This year, Tensil signed a one-season deal with the Jersey Shore Fist Pumpers of the Casual Pro League, finishing the season with just 185 receiving yards on 18 receptions.

“It’s been a fantastic run,” said Tensil. “I’m grateful to my agent, Goldenboy232, and to my many fans.”

Tensil will play in four post-season exhibition games for the Fist Pumpers over the coming week and then hang up his cleats for good.
