How well would a safety with very high strengh and jackhammer VA fare? I was thinking of making one next season but is it worth the effort?

Doubt he'd be able to get near a WR. He'd be a STs only player.

So it's basicly impossible to have a hard hitting safety? Daym. Thanks.

I was brought onto a team this yr to back up a Str built SS... the guy has over 100 Str. Well, hes now my back up because the build is useless because he gave up so many TDs.

I'm building a 77/77/77 (speed/strength/tackling) safety atm.. he will surely suck outside ST for a good while untill agi/vision gets to a decent level. There have been several people trying to make hard hitting safeties but rarely do you hear of them living up to the owners expectations.

Not bad for his level, it just seems like your giving up to much in Speed and Agility to make a High Strength SS.
If I would attempt it, I would plan on only 1st Capping Vision and Tackle while not neglecting Spd / Agl to much.

Well agility can still be improved. I didnt wanna take it above 68 initially because the ALGs are so bad.

Should be a beast as soon as he starts his decline.

He's got enough speed to deal with most TEs and RBs in coverage. It's about how much my old SS had and he didn't have trouble in coverage.

As for regoob saying 73 being very high strength, for a level 46, it definitely is. It's higher than most SS's. And what more do you want? Do you want him to be built like a NT or a MLB?

If you guys want a hard hitting safety, strength isn't the stat you should be focusing on,
speed and tackling are.
A player built around making tackles has to be able to make it to the tackle in time, with a lot of velocity, and he has to be built around tackling very well. Strength in this game is more for making sure the ball carrier doesn't make yards during the tackle.
You also have to go as much as you can into power hitting SAs and VAs.

So what would you say some ideal natural stats are? something like 77 or 73 speed/tackle? 68 agility/strength, 61 vision?

You want 77 for all those really... Realisticly, 73 seems like a pretty good medium, he'll be more of a combo SS than hardhitting though. 61 vision just seems too low for coverage.

I ran the player builder V2 (includes the new archetype for hard hitting secondary) and this is what I came up with, using this progression

Speed to 77
Tackling to 73
Strength to 68
Vision to 68
Agility to 63 (my personal opinion is that mid 60s agility is plenty for a safety, thus the odd amount)
SAs/Jumping/Stamina

Beautiful Execution V2 (Lv. 71 Hard Hitting SS)

Attributes
Physical Attributes
Strength: 76.39
Speed: 93.38 (120.38 with EQ)
Agility: 67.38
Jumping: 45.38
Stamina: 50.38
Vision: 73.38
Confidence: 47.38

Football Skills
Tackling: 83.4 (97.4 with EQ, +6.3 from Textbook Tackler = 103.7 effective tackling)

Hard Hitter Abilities (+1 from custom EQ included
Wrap Up Tackle: 3
Diving Tackle: 5
Growl: 9
Big Hit: 10 (+5 from AEQ included)
Monster Hit: 10 (+5 from AEQ included)

Veteran Abilities
Textbook Tackler: 15
Helmet Crash: 15
Power Tackler: 15
Whatever else you want: 9

With this build you'd be able to get 3 pieces of AEQ upgraded.
I would choose Big Hit, Monster Hit and % make tackle (so you can change your settings without as much risk of mtk)
Alternatively you could spend more SP on Big Hit and look for a %FFUM piece. I've never liked them tbh but if you had a build entirely based on hitting hard it probably couldn't hurt.

There really isn't a single viable bonus SA you can choose.
