He had a few good seasons early on, but for a long time hasn't been all that effective. Any thoughts on what I could have done better?

Agility/Tackling/Strength too low. 89 vision is not needed IMO

Another thing is that your playing time has gone down.

I think 80ish vision and then either Football Genius or Mentored is good. So 80 natural is fine, but I wouldn't have EQ in it then

Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

The +9 EQ number is from CE (+6) and from AEQ that also has Closing Speed (+3).

Vision was the first attribute I took to the cap. I felt that if he could "see" the play developing, that he might be able to survive the sacrifice to speed and agility, since he would react to the play more quickly due to seeing it. Early on it worked really well, but of late it seems to be a detriment to him. It was an experiment, I'm just trying to understand the results at this point.

I sacrificed agility, because I though straight line speed was more important to a safety. Of course, in some situations, he needs to turn 180 degrees to get to the ball carrier. I wonder if he would have benefited from more points in CD, or from a CD AEQ?

No doubt. But from the replays I can tell that he's not the player he was early in his career. This leads me to another question: Are stats skewed in Casual Leagues as opposed to Regular Leagues? Is it normal for players in Casual Leagues to end up with less stats than players in Regular Leagues?

To the contrary, The basic AI of Casuals depend heavily on individual player builds.

I love the high Vision......especially if you're playing Zone. If you're playing a lot of Man-to-Man, then you don't need that much Vision.

A bit more Agility and Jumping is needed, but generally I quite like this build. Is he not performing?

more jumping is a must.... you cant defend the pass and your not built for the run.
