A new season is upon us and it's time for game predictions again. Last season I went 144-38 including playoffs. Let's see what I can do this year.
Queen City Carp vs Milwaukee Beers 14-21 (incorrect 13-12)
Both owners are new to the league. Queen City was relegated and Milwaukee's ownership changed hands during the off season. He looks to have done some rebuilding and I expect them to be more competitive this season. Queen City still has some cpu players. No one should have any going in to our second season.
Liberty City Convicts vs Chocolate City Cha Chings 10-34 (correct 3-34)
Liberty City also looks like it has made some improvements over last season's team. They have drawn the Cha Chings from Chocolate City for their first game of the season. I don't believe it will be a blow out like it was last season, but the Convicts haven't done quite enough to beat a team of this caliber.
Cleveland Gladiators vs Bud Dry Beer Barons 34-9 (correct 45-3)
The Beer Barons were really making progress at the end of last season. They missed the playoffs but no one went into a game against them feeling over confident. Their roster is looking decent this season. They just don't have the defense to hold back Cleveland's high scoring offense.
Georgia Storm vs Virginia Hustlers 27-6 (correct 16-9)
Georgia comes into this game on a four game losing streak. They must have been experimenting on their scrimmage games. They are always a tough team to beat. Virginia was in the lower half of the league all last season and it doesn't look like they have made too many improvements to their roster. Look for Georgia to get things back on the right track.
College Station Stallions vs Chicago Commandos 21-24 (incorrect 23-17)
Two bottom dwellers from last season face off in the season opener. Both teams are looking pretty decent this season. It's kinda hard to call but I am going to give the Commandos the edge in this game even though they have two punters on their roster. That's like keeping two women in the same house.
New Jersey Revolution vs Nashville Crushers 44-3 (correct 16-7)
Wow!, the Revolution are looking really tough this season. They lost the first game of the playoffs last season but they gave Cleveland a hell of a game. They are going to be a team to watch this season. Nashville doesn't look like they have made many improvements during the off season and are going to get "crushed".
St Louis Assassins vs Chicago Storm 10-48 (correct 0-63)
St Louis has been on a down slide for a good while. They did pretty decent in the first half of last season but haven't been able to win in 10 games. They should have been doing some heavy recruiting during the off season but they don't seem to have done much. Chicago is going to put that vaunted offense to good use in this game.
North Carolina Nudists vs Miami Brawlers 17-20(Game of the Week) (correct 13-23)
This is the prime time game in the Eastern League this week. Miami owns this series 2-0. Both teams are looking very fierce this season. Both of Miami's losses to Eastern League teams came from Las Vegas, and they are no longer in the league. North Carolina really turned it around last season and they have made some improvements during the off season. This will be an interesting game. I am going to give the nod to Miami but feel free to prove me wrong Robjay.
Well that's all for this weeks games. Good luck everyone and remember to take my predictions with a grain of salt.
