Johnny Cakes (C for Oslo) has gone on record saying "We will make it to the playoffs again this year. You can quote me on that."

Well, then, he's not wrong. He just doesn't have the balls to take it any further.

Well, yeah, I mean "me"...I try to talk about the players as though they're not me...for whatever reason.

Not really, after all you are their agent, right?

I do it too. Well, I try to. I like the "roleplaying" aspect of the game. Sometimes I'll take on one of my characters and talk like I'm them, with the attitude, e-accent and all... Haven't done it in awhile though. Most people just don't understand.
My wide receiver, for example is a bit of a trash talker. No matter what is going on with his team, he likes to talk trash to the opposing cornerbacks. Unfortunately, other people on this game are just completely unable to pick up on that, and they start insulting ME, saying that I have no life, or that I'm some middle school kid who says tough things on the internet that I would never say in person, blah blah blah.... I even explained my intent (which ruins the whole roleplaying thing completely), and they still couldn't figure it out (or just didn't want to change their attitude about me)...

This is EXACTLY what I was going for. I like giving the players something of a personality. This is a game, after all. I even posted a post-game interview with my kicker last season. Come on, let's have fun here people. It's not that I have no life. I work full time. I'm going to school for an accounting degree. And I'm engaged...getting married in November. This is a game; let's have some fun with it.

Good luck convincing the populace that we're "roleplaying" on a uhhhh "roleplaying game". They just can't comprehend it, especially in USA AA#3. You can't even do it in the Trash Talking forum without somebody ripping on your "IRL" persona.
Roleplaying is almost impossible in this game.
