Does anyone know if Power Through will trigger for a TE on a run after a catch? I have had it for a bit now on my TE. Have caught about 30 passes so far, hasn't triggered. I had 5 in SPIN last season, and it didn't trigger once. Wonder if anyone can confirm seeing Power Through Triggering for a TE or not.

from what others said before, it doesn't trigger very often

Just look at how often these things trigger for running backs who get 20 carries a game. They've probably got 10 in it. Now compare that to a TE that gets 5-7 touches a game with only 5 in the SA.

Seems like a waste.

Power Through is the break tackle SA that fires the most. Two pieces of AEQ in Power through may be worth it... it will trigger for any ball carrier when being tackled, regardless of if you are a TE, a WR, or a FB, or HB.

Power Through fires based off of weight and STR, if you have a Strong TE with decent weight you should be able to get it to fire a couple times to help you break open fomr the LB after the catch.

Lower The Shoulder and Stiff Arm would be a waste on a TE as they rarely ever fire (successfully) compared to power through.

How much STR do you have, how much does your TE weigh? What about Carrying how much Carrying to you have?

First, let's clear up the terminology a bit. The only thing needed for most SAs to "trigger" (including Power Through), is to increase the number of levels in it. For example 6 points in Power Through will cause the player to attempt to use the SA more than having 5 points in it.

For Power Through to be "successful".... well, it tells you in the description. Size and strength. My experience is that size isn't as much an issue as strength. You'll need 70 minimum in strength to start seeing it trigger. You're better off having 85+ Strength to see it consistently. Basically, you will need a sizable strength advantage over the guy tackling you for it to be successful.

Carrying will help. Agility, confidence and vision to a lesser extent.

BTW, TE's can use it successfully, just a bit harder since they don't make catches in stride too often so it is difficult to offset the speed and strength of LBs that cover them.

You could pair it with YAC to break that first tackle and gain some momentum to make Power Through more successful. I don't have any proof, but it seems that Power Through becomes less effective the further down the field you run.

Power Thru could be good but its not one of those SA's that you would like to get for a TE.
