I know that it shows all your plays, but i dont understand whats the difference if i have one active or not

It is basically a way for you to get rid of the plays that just don't work for you. At least that is how I have used it.

It's not as useful now, but it was an integral part of the gameplan before we had packages and the ability to select individual plays.
