As promised:
So in this thread I will be making commentary on every single team in BBB2.
Ouch.
Okay, might as well get this started.
DC Sonics:
This team is quite the puzzle. Like you know Pokemon Puzzle League? That's them. The game was good, but it was just a little "off". That's how I view this team. I can stare at their roster all day, but then my eyes hurt. Glancing at the starting roster, they are pretty strong throughout. Offense seems solid, run defense isn't a slouch either. I do however have a feeling they will not have the best pass defense in the league, probably somewhere around 10-12. Going through the depth of their passing offense, it isn't as strong as it potentially could be. They have some mediocre level wide receievers there that will generate an average passing attack.
Obviously something was off for them last season, being relegated. It might have been their tactics, might not have had the roster they do now, or it could have just been the league is a lot tougher than our humble BBB2.
Prediction on the season: 10-6, 5th seed playoff team. Loses in 2nd round of playoffs.
East Coast Catamounts:
Last season, not quite the contender. This season, contender? Let's find out. Looking at the roster, two things jump out at me; where they are strong, they are STRONG. Where they are weak, they are very weak. They don't have quite the rushing attack of most teams in the league, and their run defense is begging for a 200 yard game. In other aspects though, they look damn good. They've got a quarterback and two very strong starting receievers. Their slot receiever will be serviceable. The TE they have will probably make a big difference in the passing game as well.
Running the ball, it doesn't look too hopeful. Low level running back, low level full back. In pass defense, it's prettty much good when looking at their top 3 cornerbacks. However, if a WR manages to get past them and into the deep secondary, their FS could become a liability.
Prediction on the season: 6-10, no playoffs.
Los Angeles Majors
So yeah... this team isn't very good. They are very weak throughout the roster, and most of their starting roster is at the level most of BBB was at half way through the season last season. They've got an extremely weak defense, and their offense probably won't score more than 50 points this season. They have one stand out player in CR Anderson lining up at SS. But as they say, one player can't make a team!
Prediction for the season: 3-13, no playoffs.
North by Gawd Texas Tornado Humpers:
One of the real contenders last season, North By Gawd is looking to do it again. They had an extremely rough defense and were incredibly hard to score on. Their rushing attack this season will be just NASTY, and I'm going to dread playing them. They have some great depth everywhere else on the roster and will probably make another very strong playoff run this season. I'm going to be very surprised if the Tornado Humpers don't have a 3rd seed or better.
Prediction on the season: 13-3, 1st seed in the playoffs.
Double T Red Raiders:
This team will most likely be a playoff team. 6th seed, calling it now. They aren't the strongest in a lot of spots, but I truly can see this team being pretty successful. If they manage to improve their WR core, a semi-weak Oline, and just fill up their secondary they have a chance to make a cinderella story in the playoffs. Not sure how the GMs will game plan this season, but I just have a feeling they will be good. Probably just jinx'd the hell out of them, but hey, it's what I do.
Prediction on the season: 9-7 6th seed in the playoffs.
Cincinnati Stallions
It's tough to keep this unbiased as possible, considering my team just played them. However, looking at their roster they are pretty strong. Last season they were the team everybody started talking about as they came out of NO WHERE and made themselves competitors. Their offense is easily the strong point of their team. The defense on the other hand, is pretty so-so. The pass defense here will allow most team to pass for a 300 yards if they have the personnel to do so.
Prediction on the season: 9-7, 7th seed in the playoffs.
Las Vegas Heat:
This team is probably the team I'd consider "most improved" over the off-season. They have what I consider the most powerful secondary in all of BBB2, and their run defense isn't too shabby either. They have a pair of 2 high level WRs and a solid offensive line. The depth isn't the best of any teams, but it certinaly is better than a lot. The level drop off isn't too bad here. I'm really surprised by how much they lost in their first game.
Prediction on the season: 10-6, 4th seed in playoffs.
Rochester Vendetta:
Ahh, the Vendetta. Last season they started out 9-0, then suffered a "fallout" losing 2 in a row. Their player levels last season were not as high as teams such as the Hitmen, but they won through gameplanning and good tactics. Binestar and JerryStegmaier both have been very active on the boards and from their posts I can tell they are intelligent individuals that understand football.
They seem to be a level or 2 behind in a lot of spots on the depth chart though, so we'll see how it turns out for them. All I know is they beat one of the strongest teams last season in Missouri in game one, so apparently it's all still working for them.
Prediction on the season: 12-4, 2nd Seed getting a few lucky breaks here and there
New Brunswick Sentinels:
This is probably going to be biased beyond hell, but I swear I'll try to make it unbiased as possible.
Coming into this season, New Brunswick had spirits riding pretty high. Going 14-2 last season despite being "undermatched" in many games, the Sentinels still lost in the first round to the shocking New Orleans Voodoo.
The roster this season is much like last. Some spots seem undermatched. We don't have two "superstar" receievers or the ultra-high level runningback, but we do have some GREAT builds. Our builds and gameplanning make up for what would otherwise be a mediocre team.
On the defensive side of the ball, it's much of the same as last season. We're sporting a good linebacker core, with a solid secondary(led by yours truly
). On the defensive line, we are a little low on the levels, but even still we manage to shut down the run pretty good.
Prediction on the season: 12-4. 3rd seed in the playoffs(again -_-)
I'm just going to keep editing in teams as I get them completed.
REMEMBER, THIS COULD EASSSSSILLLYYYY CHANGE WITH PLAYERS BOOSTING
