my guys doesn't get pancaked a lot. lead the team in tackles this season but had hard time getting off tackles once engaged 90% it seemed thats the end of the play for him he has 3 shed blocking and good agility... what do i do??

Be patient, your guy won't be able to fight off blocks effectively for a while.

Linebackers almost never get off the blocks. The way their attributes increase, they simply can't beat linemen at the point of attack.

Linebackers create havoc with a good defensive coordinator that allows them to exploit blocking schemes and get to the ballcarrier/qb uninhibited. There's multiple ways to accomplish this. Vision helps avoid blockers and take the correct path to the ball. Speed helps (especially around the outside). Even tackling can be huge (because you can still make tackles while blocked (especially up the middle).

But you're never going to have the str/agility combo to compete against the top-end offensive linemen. If you want to do that, make a DL.

Patrick's right. However, with decent str/agi and some break block equipment, you CAN have some success.

I think in the case of BB for LBs, the best you can hope for is to defeat the block of a TE or FB, which is hard enough. You need a LOT of BB though to make it work IMO.
