Sheesh, how many game of the week are there in Naga?

Beijing Black Dragons (9-1) vs. East St Louis Tire Fires (8-2) -- Huge game for both teams to put them in position to try for the No. 1 seed. The loser will be fighting for a home playoff spot the rest of the season. My pick: Tire Fires by 5 thanks to a strong second half.

Winona Warriors (7-3) vs. NBA Jam (7-3) -- Jam is on the rise, Winona is on the decline, but this is a must-win game for both teams or else they can probably forget about a top-4 finish. My pick: Winona figures some stuff out this game, but isn't really sure what exactly they figured out. Regardless, they hold off the Jam and win by 9.

Thai Fighters (5-5) vs. Portland Dirty Penguins (9-1) -- Thai is playing as good as anyone right now, and PDP seems to have a habit of playing down to their competition, something they certainly can't afford to do in this game. My pick: Penguins hold off a late rally and run home happy with a 3-point win.

Palembang Drunken Monks (5-5) vs. Ujung Pandang Warriors (7-3) -- Playoffs? PLAYOFFS? Yep, playoffs. Ujung finishes the season with Beijing, Winona, ESL, NBA Jam and PDP. If they don't get a win here, things are looking bleak to end the season. Palembang still has PDP and CMM to worry about, but finish things off with Pa Dong, the Horde and ANL, so a win here gives them a legit shot at the playoffs. My pick: Palembang pulls the upset and Ujung starts trying to figure out where it all went wrong for such a solid team.

In honor of New Year's Day (remember when ALL the bowl games were on this day?), here's our SEAPL bowl schedule and picks:

Week 11 1/1/2010
Naga:
Phnom Penh Warriors (3-7) vs. Anchorage Northern Lights (2-8)
- When the Washroom Bowl called, these two teams jumped at the invite. Hey, it’s a step up from the Toilet Bowl (see below) anyways. Warriors by 6.

Bali Insurrection (2-8) vs. Cambodia Mountain Men (8-2)
- They say Bali travels well so they get the invite to face the Mountain Men in the Boone’s Farm Bowl for some cheap wine, while more deserving teams simply whine. Mountain Men by 17.

Beijing Black Dragons (9-1) vs. East St Louis Tire Fires (8-2)
- The grandma of them all, the Big Mac Bowl selected two all beef patties for this one. Now that that song is stuck in your head, can you hold the pickles? Dragons by 6.

Mekong Delta Force (6-4) vs. Mongolian Horde (1-9)
- The Dominoes Bowl delivers this one for us. If it ain’t over in 30 minutes or less, all game tickets are free. Force by 28.

Winona Warriors (7-3) vs. NBA Jam (7-3)
- A great fit these two were for the Chernobyl Bowl. Aren’t we all looking forward to the meltdown by the agents of the losing team? Warriors by 3.

Bacolod Skullcrushers (3-7) vs. Pa Dong Dragons (1-9)
- You can’t have a bowl season without a Toilet Bowl. With just 4 wins between ‘em, these two get the invites. The Skullcrushers nearly turned it down due to the stigma, but they show up and have just enough to flush the Dragons. Bacolod by 10.

Thai Fighters (5-5) vs. Portland Dirty Penguins (9-1)
- Things will be hot, hot, hot in the Chili Bowl. Can the Penguins stand the heat and cool off the upstart Fighters or is their secret recipe going to be a winner again? Fighters by 3.

Palembang Drunken Monks (5-5) vs. Ujung Pandang Warriors (7-3)
- What a nice matchup we have in the Almond Joy Bowl. The game promoters are lovin’ this one, have you seen the advertisements? “Sometimes you’re drunk like Monk, sometimes you aren’t.” Monks by 3.

Garuda:
Tet Offensive (10-0) vs. Aggieland Fightin' Farmers (4-6)
- Perhaps not the best pairing of the bowls, but the Willie Nelson Bowl did land SEAPL’s only undefeated team. Willie is having a tough time raising support for these Farmers though. Tet by 24.

Sydney Sharks (4-6) vs. Laos King Pongers (2-8)
- Word has it that this will be the last Pyrite Bowl. The reps are trying to talk up this matchup, but they ain’t fooling anyone. Sharks by 14.

Arctic Avalanche (4-6) vs. Louisiana Screaming Pelicans (4-6)
- The Avalanche was excited to be heading south for a bowl game. I don’t think they had the Antarctica Bowl in mind. Probably a bit further south then they had hoped for. LSP by 3.

Shanghai Steelers (1-9) vs. Myanmar Military Junta (9-1)
- The Steelers were a little confused when the received the Goodwill Bowl bid. They thought they were in for a little good will from their opponent; instead MMJ leaves them in box outside the local 2nd hand store. MMJ by 35.

Batdambang Killer Koalas (6-4) vs. Oakland Naughty Ottsel (5-5)
- The Wild Kingdom Bowl simply could not pass up matching the Koalas with the Ottsel. Word has it that Mutual of Omaha has dropped their sponsorship though. No Marlin, No Jim, no insurance. BKK by 7.

Manila Warlords (3-7) vs. Padang Orangutans (8-2)
- The Friends Bowl came up with a bit of a mismatch it appears. We can only hope this doesn’t turn into “The One Where Chandler Crosses The Line.” Orangutans by 14.

Bangalore Monsoon (6-4) vs. Singapore Canes (6-4)
- Fitting selection of these two by the Captain Morgan Bowl as both teams are looking to get a leg up on securing a playoff spot. Not too mention I imagine both teams’ fans (& coordinators) will be all liquored up. Monsoon by 10.

The Manila Guerrillas (5-5) vs. Vietnamese Sweatshop (0-10)
- With little left to choose from, the Dandelion Bowl ended up with this matchup. Manila should have an easy time with this pollination as the Sweatshop gets carried away in the wind. Guerrillas by 28.

Oops. Got a little tipsy with that one. Let's go with "Sometimes you're drunk like a Monk" and pick the Monks.

Wow that is the best compliment ever.......
when we are picked to win a game that we are not in must mean you think the world of us

Some of us did consider watching from the sidelines and possibly pilfering a few kegs from the Monks stash.

Entertaining as always.

Nice job.
