i am trying to find out how i make my custom play used during the games and how do i tell if it got used during the games. also why do we pick a offense playbook but not a defensive playbook? do we have to create our entire d playbook?

You find out if your custom plays were used by watching replays.
The reason there isn't a custom playbook for defenses is because it isn't necessary with the DPC. There are preset plays for the defense but they are pretty much garbage.
