You will probably get several responses regarding his agility, vision, and asking you if he is set on super elusive. In my opinion a player should never do that regardless of his attributes or running style.

I have to agree. If you fail a vision check to see the sideline, that's kinda fucked up.
About the ONLY explanation I would buy is some sort of failed morale/confidence check, but even that is pretty far-fetched.

too much boose? celebrations should be AFTER the game not before...
