Anyone have any new ideas on what can be done about 'knocked loose' passes? My TE has 60+ carrying, 58+ strenght, 15 in Possession Receiver VA, & 10 in Nerves of Steel, yet still had all 3 of his catches 'knocked loose' in his game today.

That was in a winning effort after having 5 catches, in which none were knocked loose, in a losing effort game 1. So confidence (which is 50+) doesn't seem to be the issue since the 'knocked loose' passes should be occuring when moral is low rather then when morale is high.

The 3 passes 'knocked loose' today were caused by 3 different players too so it's not like I just ran into 1 really great 'knocked loose' creating build. Is it just because all 3 LBs are 10+ levels higher then my guy?

I've heard rumblings that "Mr. Reliable" is a better VA than "Nerves of Steel" in that regard, even though it only directly impacts "knocked loose" on 3rd and 4th downs. Other than that, I don't have much for you.

Get some points into "Cover Up", on the receiving tree. And get Mr. Reliable up to 15. Strength should really be at the 60 cap too.

I'm not sure we have any confirmation that the "Cover UP" SA does anything other than help fumble avoidance--the wording makes no direct mention of helping with pass receptions.

IMO, a knocked loose pass is a fumble. The reception is made, and the ball is then knocked out of the receivers hands (usually the TE for some reason). Of course, all of our suggestions are speculative; if we knew for sure what would make our TE's always catch the ball cleanly, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Level is a major factor in knocked loose, I'm pretty sure 80+% of my knocked loose are by higher level linebackers and SS'. Also on a majority of my knocked loose plays my TE is being hit by multiple people.

My TE has 70 strength and catching, but only 51 carrying, which seems to be the problem. I would also note that my TE has had 1 actual drop in the past three seasons, so catching is not an issue, or strength.

Knocked Loose will always be a huge problem for TE's because they always get catches in traffic. Most of my knocked loose drops are my TE getting hit by 2-3 linebackers/safeties at the same time. In the league I'm in (USA AAA) 6 of the top 10 drop leaders are high level TE's (59+). The rest are WR's who get 15-20 balls thrown at them a game.
