I know Time of Possession in the pro's is huge. I just dominated another team:
Time of Poss LSM 41:47 MMD 18:13
Plays LSM 83 MMD 41

Does this have a game impact. It should affect their offense and defense both. I didn't notice.

Just wondering

TOP is one of the most misleading stats in football and dotball. A team can win TOP and lose 255-0 due to their opponent returning every punt for a TD. Typically in a competitive game the team that can run the ball more effectively and/or pick up more 1st downs will have more TOP.

The score is much more important than TOP.

In a competitive game, TOP is pretty big normally. There are generally two things that dominate the clock.

1) Ball Control offense (Short passes and/or runs)
2) Bad Defense or ST

#1, if you control the clock in that way, it's the best way to beat a superior team.
#2, if you control the clock in that way, it's the best way to lose to a superior team.

I agree for the most part. What I was thinking is that it SHOULD be a major factor in wearing down the confidence and stamina of the other team. It should affect the chemistry of the opponents offense too!

I've often thought there should be some kind of rhythm factor with the offense.

Something like +morale, +energy based on consecutive positive gains, followed by the opposite effect for every first down the other team makes while you are on the bench. It should only give the gains to the players on the field too, that would discourage the 2 QB systems that render all our intimidation SAs useless.

Theoretically, it is. There's enough VA and SAs about the morale/energy impact of blocking and tackling that the mechanic has got to be in there. Whether or not it gets overwhelmed by other factors is the question.

Exactly what I was thinking! I like the rhythm method... oh wait rhythm factor. Yea, that's it.

Seriously though that is what I'm talking about. A slight boost to players. Maybe a slight negative for going 3 and out also.

That is a great point.

I'm playing Pee Wee Gold now so it doesn't affect me, but your right for the higher level stuff it should work by default as your guys are snarling and hitting the opponents more.

Yeah, but it's messed up right now. The more tackles a power back breaks in a game, the lower his morale is after the game. Pretty fucked up, tbh.

We had a game last season where both of our backs rushed for 100+ yards and like 8 YPC or something, and finished the game with 30 morale.

could also be worded: "The more hits a power back takes in a game, the lower his morale is after the game.". which sounds a lot less absurd

Yeah, but at the end of the day, it's still the same stupid shit. A guy can rush for 200 yards with 8 YPC and have 30 morale at the end of the game.

Just another case of Blorf not having a fucking clue - welcome to GLB!
