Yesterday was the 97th annual Grey Cup game - the championship game of the Canadian Football League. I see in the GLB Wiki that someone's created a CPL league logo, based on the CFL's logo -

I was wondering what you guys thought of the idea of making a CPL specific trophy for the league winners, based on the Grey Cup -

It would be something unique to CPL and would help distinguish us from the other regions in Goal Line Blitz. SAPL is looking at doing the same thing for South America apparently.

Great idea - if you make something up just submit it to an admin. I wouldn't expect a fast response though - WL still has a vanilla trophy.

Awesome idea dude. Thanks for the work on the histories as well. Makes the league more fun with that kind of stuff.

glb won't make any official if it's copywritten though, so good luck with this, even if it were an original idea.

All kidding aside, you're probably right Gart. It seems to be GLB's unstated goal to stamp out all traces of any regional identity in favour of the all-encompassing cloud.

I'm not saying they wouldn't necessarily make a separate trophy for CPL (although I really doubt it if they won't for World League), i'm just saying it can't be anything copywritten.

Can you copyright a trophy? I suppose if we were trying to make money off it, the CFL might have an issue with it. But simply using a gif image shouldn't be an issue.

Im pretty sure theyve tried getting their own trophy for it as well.
