Here is the traditional first look at the average levels around Alpha, with the standard disclaimer that level does not mean everything, but as per usual it might give an indication who might have to rely on better builds, tactics or all of the above to come out a winner.
Second disclaimer, due to many veterans going into the decline at some point the averages somewhat reflect a teams philosophy, several seem to go with their veterans, probably for one more last hurrah, while others went young completely, and a few are running with a mixture of veterans and up and coming players.
The big difference in average level from #1 to #16 from last season has gone down, from more than 10 to around 7.5 levels. This will likely go even further down once people start to boost, as the teams with the higher averages likely have more players on th roster that can't boost anymore this season.
Only players of level 40+ were considered for this snapshot, as I doubt players lower than that will be a factor in this league:
66.17 Italian Stallions; 46 players; median 67
65.28 Hattgenstein Volunteers; 54 players; median 66
65.08 Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks; 50 players; median 66
65.07 Boston Punks; 42 players; median 67
64.04 E-City Mercenaries; 52 players; median 65
63.78 FootballForum Fighting Danes; 45 players; median 65
63.69 Fareham Demons; 48 players; median 65
63.17 Graz Grizzlies; 52 players; median 64
62.78 Burnt Orange Rising; 50 players; median 62
62.54 Athenian Demigods; 46 players; median 62
62.3 Windsor Nobles; 50 players; median 63
62.04 London Underground; 45 players; median 63
61.13 Dublin Druids; 39 players; median 61
59.98 Naples Purple Nurples; 54 players; median 60
59.96 The Drunken Potato Farmers of Ayrshire; 52 players; median 60
58.67 Parma Panthers; 49 players; median 61
Recruiting certainly is still ongoing for several teams, so there will be some changes before the start of the season. What is notable that of the returning teams Bonn and London made the biggest jump in average, by around 5 levels each, indicating that they might be more of a force this time around. Averages also went up for Stallions, Graz, Parma and E-City, while Danes, Druids and Naples went down in that regard.
Still no team at the max roster limit of 55, but it is encouraging to see that all teams seem to intend and be able to field a full roster this season, makes quite a change from last season where four teams had 38 players or less and as few as 14 when I put up this post.
