Tournament of Futility – Elite 8

Texas State University Fighting Armadillos (3.5) defeat Funk Druckers (3)
This game was the first test of Bort’s new season 14 sim (I’m am very honoured that he chose my tournament to test out his latest updates), in order to address the broken passing game at higher levels and shift OC’s away from running the ball 40+ times a game Bort decided to break the running game, this strategy has worked a treat and now offense appears to be perfectly balanced (with both running and passing being SHIT!!).

But the show stopper in the season 14 sim was the newest feature, now I know you are all aware that season 13 was the era of ‘adjusted stats’, well season 14 is the era of adjusted scores! That’s right adjusted scores!!! With the bonus going toward the team that spent the highest combined $$$ amount on flex (similar to how it is now, but more blatant) .

Another heart breaking loss for Robbnva and the FD team, who had high hope and were on the way to a great season before letting Thunder66 fuck it all up for them. On the other side a great result for the dillo’s as they roll into their first final four, great job dillo’s!



The Insane Asylum (3) defeats Final Thought (F)
In an anticlimactic non-game The Insane Asylum took the field against no opposition and kicked the winning FG necessary to move onto the final four. Apparently all the Final Though team were in court supporting their owner who was being sued by Jerry Springer for theft of intellectual property and break of copy right (apparently their team name was stolen from one of his segments, who knew!).

Update: In an update on the case of Jerry Springer v Final Thought, it turns out the entire group of final though agents and GMs where sent to prison (where they were made to ‘toss the salad’) after being found in contempt [apparently they all started taking off their shirts, throwing punches, followed by throwing chairs after they found out Jerry was sleeping with ALL of their girlfriends and wives]. In my final thought, DON’T FUCK WITH SPRINGER PEOPLE!!!! ...it’s just not worth it.



True Blue (69) defeats New Orleans Pee Wee (-17)
Now I’m sure most of you thought I’d be a big man here and let New Orleans advance even though they beat He Hate Me TWICE! ...well your dead freaking wrong!!!!! Infact I even deducted a point for every point they scored against HHM this season, smurfs advance 69 to MINUS 17.

[yeah, now who’s laughing New Orleans! ...we’ll I guess you guys still, dammit.]

There has been a tournament rule change regarding CPU teams, to maintain the integrity of the prestigious Tournament of Futility we will be replacing all remaining CPU teams with a human controlled team from the list of alternates.
Given the list of alternates was not publicly advertised HHM was the only team to sign up, and will be taking the Nerd Crushers place in the game against Dreven’s Rookietown Raiders ( I think we have a clear favorite for the tournament now!!!!).

Any complaints or protests about this late change can be spammed ...I mean, sent directly to Darkus Black ( http://goallineblitz.com/game/new_message.pl?to=95635 ).



Rookietown Raiders (2) defeat He Hates Me (0)
Oh FFS! Really, I mean com’on I can’t even score in my own tournament let alone win it, now I know how LE feels with coming so close in the Air Attack each season! (Sorry LE had to do it!).
Rookietown wins on a safety in OT (stupid OAI bug called the SG HB Handoff ), but the win does set up a possible story book ending for Rookietown Raiders as this is their last season, and I’m sure they’d love nothing more than to have a Google linked trophy to bluetak to their team page after its CPU.



Important update: The Final Four winners will be determined by voting open to the peewee community. Lord Evil will hopefully set us up with a link that you can all vote on!
The winner of each match up will be the team with the most votes.

Funk Druckers (56) defeat League 10 Lab Rats (3)
The Lab Rats did far too much experimenting to have any chance of winning this one, if you want to experiment go to college (or possibly Dtown’s house after his nightly bottle of bourbon).
Teams will have to learn this tournament should not be taken lightly or used as a practice to test your AI’s for the other peewee tournaments. The Lab Rats payed the price this time.


Texas State (62) defeat Peewee Destroyers (21)
Texas State looked more like Texas in this game!
Will the armadillo’s get their own chance to go to the big game? Will Kathy Ireland get crushed by that big Hawaiian o-lineman during sex? Will Paul Blake’s arm fall off if he throws one more pass? Will anyone get these references??? ...stayed tuned for the answers to these important questions next round!


Final Thought (28) v Atlantic City Surf (28) [15OT’s]
This epic battle just could not be resolved on the field (Bort was going to charge me another 25 flex to keep running OT periods), as such the first owner of either team to PM me wins the game. GL.


The Insane Asylum (178) defeat The Westside Longhorns (21)
The Insane Asylum are by far the favourites to take out this tournament, game after game of huge blow outs. TIA’s high powered offense passed for 322.256726 yards & 12.8922853 TD’s, and rushed for a total of 403.000428933899335335353 yards and 0.59883 TD’s in a clear attempt to make a mockery of ‘Borts extremely useful and in no way a complete fcuking wast of time’ new blowout adjusted stats (thanks for that one Bortman!!!).


NOPW’s (42) defeat Short Bus (0)
In a replay of the S12 Air Attack Championship game New Orleans again downs Short Bus, though I have the feeling this one was less about overall talent and more about Short Bus devoting too much time game planning for their wk1 gold league game against HHM. Perhaps they should have focused on the one that really counted!!!


True Blue (17) defeat South Park Cows (14)
My favourite game of the round, a true battle of the ‘peewees’ and wouldn’t you know it the littlest guys on the field came up HUGE when it counted nailing a 67 yard field goal in OT.
I haven’t seen a cow take a pounding that bad since the Paris Hilton sex tape!!! ...after a physical game like that I bet the Cows are as sore as Smurfette after a post game party!!! ”dude that’s not cool, your going to get us in trouble!!!”


Rookietown Raiders (24) defeats Golden State Falcons (3)
Rookietown must have still been in thanksgiving mode as they chowed down on these birds. The Raiders defence really stuffed the Golden State’s running game, and had their QB by his cranberries. The Falcons just couldn’t move the ball offensively, resulting in a relatively easy win for the Raiders and Dreven basting himself in front of his computer!
In a late twist the investigation into the Raiders first game is complete, apparently I was using the ‘blowout adjusted’ score for Chicago and the ‘Raw’ score for the raiders, after fixing this error the result was Chicago Terminators (158) defeating the Raiders (2).
Now the fair thing to do would be to reinstate Chicago and schedule a new game between Golden State and Chicago, however that would add to the drag on an already slow sever. As well all know life’s not fair so GET A FCUKING HELMET!!!!
Raiders advance.


The Nerd Crushers (7) v The Fighting Gamecocks (0)
Possibly the biggest upset of the tournament thus far with the fully CPU Nerd Crushers downing a heavily favoured ‘Gold’ team. In this S12 throwback game a defensive struggle ensued, with the Nerd Crushers starting SS taking back a pick six 68 yards with 4.43 to go in the 4th quarter for the games only score. Cocks were soft in this one, and will really need to stiffen up if they intend on performing in gold league.

* MTPT’s had a -2 point penalty against them for biting FD’s starting QB’s left ear (quite an effort to get through the helmet!).


League 10 Lab Rats (58) defeat San Antonio Saviours (28)
San Antonio was forced to their knees in the fourth quarter of this one, eventually going down.


Peewee Destroyers (21) defeat GLB Head Hunters (20)
So close for GLB HH but no head for those guys this time. A painful loss which has them feeling a little blue!


Texas State University Fighting Armadillos (32) defeat Montreal Shamrocks (14)
Lead by a now 63 year old Paul Blake, and inspired by rumours of a Cathy Ireland sex tape, Texas State shamrocked Montreal and leaves them saying shamWOW!!!


Boston Patriots (48) defeat Final Thought (7) **
** Boston spanks Final Though, however due to a technical violation stemming from an equipment issue Boston is issued with a penalty of -42 points. Resulting in a final score of 7-6 and Final Thought advancing. Tough break for Boston (I guess some ones envelope was a little light!). :


Atlantic City Surf (39.5) defeats Erie Freeze (10)
The Atlantic Tidal wave was just to strong and too fast for EF this game. To sum it up ...Erie Froze!


The Insane Asylum (205) defeats Inglorious Bastards (0)
Dear lord, Bort really should introduce a mercy rule!!! The inmates ran wild in this one.


West Side Longhorns (27) defeats Saint Gobain (26)
Horns win. Saint Gobain are Kurt Cobain in this tournament ...talented, but DEAD!!!!


Short Bus Window Lickers (255) defeat Wambulance Academy (0) ***
*** The first result (SBWL 32 – Wam 0) did not count in this one, as Dtwon forgot to set his OAI/DAI (apparently no one told him he was in the tournament), after scheduling a second game with Dtown’s AI’s uploaded we finally got a result! (...guess wam should have stuck with basic settings).


New Orleans Pee Wees (56) defeat Throw it Deep (14)
NOPW’s balanced offense dominated in this one. Throw it Deep did live up to its name, unfortunately trowing a record number of interceptions (23) really hurt them in this one. Unlucky guys, you just copped a really bad sim, it happens.


South Park Cows (100) defeat New Orleans Predators (0)
A team full of young boys vs a bunch of predators, results in an unlikely winner in the one! The young lads violate the predators ...GO COWS!!!


True Blue (77) defeat Peewee Dirty Birds (36)
True Blue were smurftastic in this one. BLUE POWER, BLUE POWER!!! (please no racism bans ).


Golden State Falcons (69) defeat Chi Town Hustlers (9)
Chi Town copped a golden shower as they got hosed in this one. The bitter taste from this loss will last a while.


Rookietown Raiders (2) defeats Chicago Terminators (1)
Soccer scores in this one O_o, not sure what the heck happened? ...no doubt Dreven had something to do with fudging this result. Investigations to come.

OGRE HATES NERDS!!! ...Nerd Crushers win.
