Warrior General Games

Well, the end of another regular season is here already. As discussed elsewhere - http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3456805&page=2#30323124 - the West has already settled which eight teams are going to the playoffs...where half of them will seed is all that's to be decided. The East isn't quite settled yet with "the win or tie or lose and..." blah, blah, blah, it's too much thought for me.

This will be the last of this style of predictions...the Excel worksheet doesn't go past the regular season. What I'll be able to cook up for the playoffs...who knows? As time permits. For now, here's the final week's predictions:

If I understand things correctly, five spots in the East have been locked up. There are five teams fighting for the final three spots...and Halifax vs. Cobden is the only game that pits two of those teams against one another. Cobden not only needs a victory to possibly make the playoffs, they'll also need a few other teams to lose for things to fall into place. To a lesser degree, Halifax can't rely on getting in with only a win...they also need another team or two to lose before they grab up a spot.

All eight playoff teams have been decided and, for the most part, we know where six of them will likely end up. This Game of the Week will help determine which of these teams seeds at #6 (Northern Polar Bears in Round 1) or #8 (Kansas City Rams in Round 1). The Rams vs. the Boyz is the only other match-up featuring two playoff teams and the seeding would really be shaken up if Brooklyn pulled off an upset. I'm sure Buxx is pursuing the perfect season and won't let that happen.

The projector went a near perfect 8-0 in the East last week. I realize it predicted a tie for the final game, but it also chose to bold Hillsburgh rather than BSoDF...so that's like picking them in my book. Most importantly, Halifax came through in the Game of the Week...keeping them in the playoff hunt for one more week.

Only the Huskies managed to pull off an upset this week with the projector going 7-1. Northern crushed the spread in the Game of the Week hurting Tadoussac's playoff seeding a little, but not keeping them from the playoffs.

My personal game of the week is Memphis vs Providence I am rly looking forward to seeing how that one turns out (GO MEMPHIS)
but on a side not ill echo the sentiments of everyone else, kudos for sticking with the rankings all year probably the only threads on this forum that I would regularly make a point of reading makes this game that much more fun.

I feel like I've let my teammates down. Real life intruded, and I wasn't able to game plan or scout for a few games, and we ended up losing 3 in a row. Now, I don't know if we would have won any of them if I had game planned, but we all know what happened with the alternative.

You're all welcome.

This game certainly isn't without its problems...but, in all, it's still a pretty decent product. If these write-ups provide a little extra motivation to keep your team going...the effort is well worth it.
