You'll want a lot of speed and a solid amount of tackling.
Vision, strength and agility can't hurt.

The SS's most important skills are speed, agility, and vision. All three of these need to be taken to at least 60 if not 68 before doing anything else other than training other skills. Put all of your equipment into speed and agility. These are the minimum requirements for an effective SS. Build your base first.

Strength, tackling, jumping, and catching are secondary skills. Only after building an effective base can you start building a more specialized version of an SS. You need to get some AE that will enhance your specialty.

Agility to 68, then Vision to 68. Keep training Strength/Tackling.

While I agree that this is a nice build, bragging about being MVP on a 4-win team only shows that the MVP system is broken. It's nice to see all the forced fumbles.

Wins on a team don't determine how good your player is. He won the MVP because his player is good at what he does. If anything being on a 4 win team and still winning the MVP speaks volumes to the type of player that he has created. Also it shows that just because you have the "winning" team, you may not have the best players.

yeah, we got promoted up from AA and the team wasn't ready for it, but all those seasons previous were on a AAA team that dissolved and so last season i spent some time in AA...

MVP is based on statistics, not how well he played. The MVP is determined by a computer. One of the biggest stats for any defender is tackles. And safties tend to get get lots of tackles on bad teams. Why is the team bad? Because the guys up front aren't as good as the other team, so the safties see more opportunities.

I'm sure the player is good, but MVP is a joke because of the way it is determined. A safety on a good team is almost automatically eliminated from MVP consideration because they don't see as many opportunities for big plays as the safties on bad teams.

well most of the defensive MVP's are those who roll in +60 sack per season then maybe a linebacker or safety who force some fumbles and get some interceptions get to the list.

well, he's a season one player so there was no guidelines for building back then, i agree some of the levels are pretty uniform, but well, those seemed like the most important cats for a SS...

You don't need that much agility unless you blitz.
