I must say that's the first time I've ever seen anyone claim you could ruin a Punter build by putting more confidence into it.

I think he means the SP can be distributed to strength which is more worthwhile.

Yea, "ruin" was probably not the best word. But, Confidence is a waste of SP. (imo of course)

That would imply that you believe str > con for punters? Because both are spending at the 3:1 ratio right now.

absolutely.

I believe that you should cap confidence to 49 and never touch it again.

I have to agree. Confidence helps you avoid flubbing a punt every now and then, but strength adds height and distance to every kick. Strength is more important imo. Unless all you care about is lolbars, then go confidence. Although, I think 68 is a good stop point on con, and 77 is the one for strength.

Granted some have more problems than just strength, but it seems that strength isn't always the missing link in a punter build. There's something we're still missing.


There's also this build which seems to be a decent non-strength based build, but lacks higher confidence.

My level 68 punter only has 63 in strength, but has had decent numbers his entire career. (missing the corner (touchbacks) always seemed to have been his weakness)

i am of the belief that confidence is much more important than strength. this is my lv 41 punter, just now started touching strength and he does just fine. many coffin corner kicks. two touchbacks for the whole year.

Yeah this to me is the biggest reason to go for confidence. I'm not as concerned with a 50 yard average as I am with consistently getting coffin corners.
