with the first four games under our collective belts, it seems like a great time to grade the teams so far.

please feel free to self evaluate your own teams performance to date... Input is always welcome

GARUDA

1 Buffalo Rampage 4-0
- Quality wins vs former WLers and a top Naga squad in the Manila Warlords... a shutout of perienial Garuda power, Sumatra... and solid win over Bangkok.
GRADE: B (we still have a lot of work to do )

2 Lea Lea Furniture 4-0
- have beaten everyone they have played, and beat them badly. Granted the teams they have played are all first or second season SEAPL teams, but theyve only given up ONE touchdown to these teams. The Lea Lea D has been stellar as they gameplan very well... They won back to back SEA titles in AA and AAA for a reason. They are good. They will be tested later in the season, when they play some of the more established franchises in SEAPL, but for now, they've passed the test.
GRADE: A

3 Bangkok Bangers 3-1
-Last season's AAA Garuda champ is off to a great start by completely dismantling Da Nang and Padang by a combined score of 141-15. The Bangers then went on to upset established Garuda power BKK before losing to a tough Lea Lea squad. The win over BKK is enough to get this team on everyone's radar. Unfortunately for them, they will always be 'the other Bangkok', as long as the Lightning are in the league.
GRADE: B

4 Myanmar Military Junta 3-1
-An impressive start to the season with a big interconference win over veteran SEAPL team, the Northern Lights of Naga... a tight win over the Monsoon was followed up by a blowout win over SEAPL vets, the West Indies Warriors. They stumbled against the Sweatshop, and have a lot of the top teams in Garuda left to face, but so far theyve been strong in their SEAPL debut. Having only 46 players on the roster will leave them vulnerable against the deeper teams in the league, but theyve held their own so far, and so far, so good.
GRADE: B

5 Batdambang Killer Koalas 3-1
- the Koalas have had a slew of tight games, including an 8 point loss to league newcomer, the Bangkok Bangers... Their D has been allowing teams to hang around and keep games close that they should be dominating. Turning convincing Wins into not so convincing nailbiters. As one of Garuda's elder franchises, they are one of the better teams in the conference, but with the best teams in the conference still remaining on their schedule, they cant afford to drop any more games to the newer teams in SEAPL. They should be in the playoffs.
GRADE: C

6 Sumatra Sting 2-2
- Two big losses to two of the top teams in SEAPL is nothing to be ashamed of, but the fact that CMM scored 60+ on them and getting shutout at home to Buffalo has to have the Sting concerned. They dispatched of the Sweatshop by icing the game out of reach with under a minute left and went on to trounce a very game Arrowhead squad. This team is dangerous, but has had the misfortune of running into two of the better teams in the league. They might end up being the only two losses of the season for the Sting... Time will tell.
GRADE: C+

7 Oakland Naughty Ottsel 2-2
-Last season's other AAA Garuda champ started out like a house on fire, but has fizzled as they've lost two in a row, including a very poor showing against the Ligers. They bounced back against BKK to make it a close game, but the final score was not in their favor. This two game losing streak may end, but theyve got a lot of work ahead of them to keep pace with the top 8 and make the playoffs. If you'd have told them before the season that theyd be 2-2 after 4 games, I think they would have been happy with that. But with the meat of their schedule ahead of them, Their road to the playoffs is going to be an uphill climb with a bunch of teams on their furry little Ottsel tail...
GRADE: C+

8 D League Ligers 2-2
- the Ligers got off to a very rough start as they dropped their opener to the Naga newbies PDP, a team that is currently undefeated. D-League then got run by BKK in a game that wasnt as close as the score would indicate. Since then, they've won two in a row and if they can continue to beat the teams they are supposed to, they should finish in the top 8. They have a difficult schedule, but need a couple of upsets to claw their way into the top 5.
GRADE: B-

9 Arrowhead Fanatics 2-2
- Their big win against Winona has lost a bit of its luster, especially in light of the two big losses to the Sting and Lea Lea... as it stands they are on the outside looking in on the playoffs, and with four of the top teams in the conference remaining, they will have a tough time of it. They need to do better than they have and need to upset a couple teams to get it done this season.
GRADE: C

10 Padang Orangutans 2-2
- Like Arrowhead, they repped Garuda well in their opener, beating Beijing 26-23... but two big losses to the Bangers and the Furniture have them downgraded from a team that could contend to a team that isnt expected to make the playoffs. They still have to face FIVE veteran SEAPL teams and if they cant beat LLF or BB, they will have their hands full trying to make it to .500...
GRADE: C-

11 Tet Offensive 2-2
- Considering how outleveled Tet is, it's impressive they've done as well as they have. Both losses were within 8 points of their opponents, and both wins were within 10 of their opponents, but with the toughest portion of their schedule approaching (and when I say portion, I exclude the Gangsters game, as that may be the only win they can muster this season.) they will need some luck so they dont get the table run on them... they will need to work their Tets off to get more than a handful of wins this season.
GRADE: C-

12 Vietnamese Sweatshop 2-2
- Tough losses to the Sting and Krungthep put them in an 0-2 hole, but two big wins against the Lightning and the Junta have them posting all over the forums, The problem is there's more Sweatshop threads started by Sweatshop members than there are Ws in the Sweatshop win column, and it could stay that way for a while. They get Tet next and that might be their last chance at a win til the Chaing Mai in their season finale... so far their dotballin has been mediocre. Lets hope this Report Card is the wakeup call they needed.
GRADE:C

13 Bangkok Lightning 1-3
-Losses to Naga middle of the road Heroes and the Sweatshop have the SEAPL veteran Lightning reeling. Their most recent loss to Buffalo was tough, but these Ligthtning look like theyve already started retooling for S13... Is this what decline looks like?
The good news for the Lightning is they have future stars, like Jon Bostic, already on the roster, but this once proud Garuda juggernaut looks like its going to have a tough S12...
GRADE:: D+

14 West Indies Warriors 1-3
-Losses to the Drunken Monks in the Intersquad. Lossing badly to new Pro franchises like Tet and the Junta hurt too. Losing by one to the Lightning is respectable even when they have a down season. Losing by 40+ to newbie SEAPLers, the Junta is not the direction these Garuda veterans want to be going in. If they dont right the ship soon the W.I.W could be in for a long, painful season. most of teh rest of teh teams in the conference have already circled W.I.W as a win. They will need to turn things around quickly to get back on track.
GRADE: C-

15 Bangalore Monsoon 0-4
- The Monsoon got blown out in their interconference opener vs Mekong. Since then they have lost heartbreaker games to the Junta by three points, Tet by seven and the Ligers by One?!?!?!? They appear to be a victim of getting promoted too soon for their own good and the entirity of their team is a bit underleveled for SEAPL. If they can hang on and get a couple wins under their belt, they can avoid demotion and hopefully ripen into a tough team in thE seasons ahead. Otherwise, they may get relegated and have to win their way back into the league. Unfortunately, the league never sleeps and is getting better every season. and teh Monsoon schedule doesnt ease up...
GRADE: C-

16 Chiang Mai Gangsters 0-4
-Uhm... the Gangsters are facing at demotion. No guts look like they are on the horizon either.
AAA? here come the Gangsters!
GRADE: F

Great read, it is always nice to read someones opinion on what is going on. I only get to look at rosters and then scout a game or so. So, for the most part I do not know a lot of the other teams up here. Plus I like knowing the tradition of the teams up here as well.

keep them coming
