How well does "Power Thru" work for a TE? He's a receiving TE that used to be a blocker. He is 260lbs and has first capped strength. He's also an 86 on speed, about to be 90. I know that speed plays a small role with all attributes. Well, thats what I've been told.

i would think you would need to have at least carrying capped and strength to the second cap to really see it work.

I would think putting more points into break tackle would net better gains. I like the avatar by the way.

OK, has anyone with a receiving TE ever used Lower the Shoulder. I believe its a SA but my TE is young and I'm not going to waste any SP on SAs. I found this piece today and it seems nice to use, knwoing you aren't fooling with SP for the SA. Keep in mind that my player is a level 13 and STRICTLY receiving type. I've only boosted speed and get natural gains for strength, vision, and blocking, etc. The SA says that this piece works with size to break tackles. The dude is a TE!!!!! Of course he's big, BUT has speed. How well will it work?

I have heard people have a 10 in it and it only fires once a game, So I don't think it is worth it.

I currently have 3 in it with my 37 TE and have yet to have it fire - although he's a balanced build. I'd say move on. If you are sure you want to build a tackle-breaking TE, investing in a break tackle chance piece might be a better strategy.

The best TE's that make me say wow are the really fast ones that can run a fly route and burn the defender for a 60 yard TD. Not too many TE's I see barreling through defenders for that 60 yard run.

Yeah definetly. Just depends on what routes I'm running and what kind of defense the opponents are in. A cover@ zone get ate up with a TE streak.

power thru has worked better than lower the shoulder in my past experience with strength based TE's.
