Warrior General Games

Ive got 2 lv 25 safeties, a FS and a SS and Im still not sure where to put their first VA points.

FS (naturals): speed 75+, agility 50+, vision 64+
SS (naturals): Speed 73+, agility 64+, vision 50+,

I dont have access to the ball hawk and jackhammer yet, so VAs to consider are:
- clutch
- zone specialist
- long reach

Any advice would be appreciated.

Of the VAs you mention, Zone Spec is by far the highest priority for both safeties in most schemes. Talk to your DC to confirm, though.

Even after it has been changed? Seems to me to be pretty much useless at the moment..

absolutely....even if for nothing other than the vision bonus to reading plays.

Yes, faster zone drops and better coverage until the ball's in the air are useless. Carry on.

Zone Specialist was never great to begin with.

I'm still going to have Zone Specialist and Ball Hawk. The Zone Specialist nerf only made Ball Hawk even more necessary.

I don't see it as important for SS unless your team plays a lot of Cover 2.

what if your ss only plays zone max 25% of the time?

I still can't get ball hawk either(need 40 jumping).. I have 6 in clutch just for the heck of it now..

I have 5 points in Zone Spec. and 5 points in Ball Hawk, seems to be working fine for me right now.

I have to disagree that Zone Sp. has never been great especially for the safety position.

Don't worry, you're not alone.

Challenge Everything is right for his players though.

They're just different from all other safeties. Since they can't get to the play, they'll need the play to come to them.

That kind of changes what you'll expect from VAs.
