CB is covering the wrong man checked in DPC and DAI tester. He gets us for some yards before the FS is there to help.

Same thing. Looks like a Singleback HB wheel with the TE pass blocking on the left, but that play doesn't have WR3 going on an out route. He goes across the outside WR and up on the wheel. I haven't noticed my CB's missing an assignment like that before.

This time the CB seems to see the cut.

Has the wheel always ran like that? Did it get changed? A new play? Is it a bug? I haven't noticed my cb's acting like that before.

Looks like some kind of zone. Without seeing your DPC and DAI there is no telling.

I should have been more clear.

Its the offensive play I can't find in the play book. The closest thing to it is the singleback HB wheel medium range if I remember right, but the WR3 doesn't go on an out route according to the playbook. They had the TE blocking on the weakside. In the playbook, the HB wheel shows WR3 going on an outside slant then up the sideline. If that's not the play i can't find it.

The fact that I can't find that play in the book and the weird behavior of my DB's has gotten me intrigued.

It looks like it is the HB wheel and the WRs must have been set on creative route running is my guess. Key word...guess.

It's the HB Wheel Singleback exactly as it is the playbook with exact routes.
My guess is that your CB was on zone and got bamboozled by the WR's crossing.
Their QB is set to find the open man quickly. Try your CB man to man.

I the 1st play the WR is too fast and when he made his cut your CB was blocked by the other WR.

It also looks like he got bunched up with the other WR & CB.

It's just a fast WR with good agility and your CB doesn't have the agility to match his moves so he was late on his break and the other WR blocked him.

if you look here: http://goallineblitz.com/offense_plays.html the wheel is at the bottom of the page for medium passes. It shows WR3 on a slant to the outside then up, not out.

The defense was set to man coverage. When i look, it appears that Mirot mashes moves inside while the DB is breaking left. Maybe its an effect of a fake.... maybe its his attempt to path around the other WR.... Maybe its a bug. It is not the SB HB wheel exactly as the play is drawn up. Maybe it is exactly how the play goes, but the play book is wrong or its something else i can't find.

Ahhh... I see it now. You are talking about the left side receivers.

The one deviating from the plan is set on "creative" route running. But it's still the Wheel play.
(Clever bastards!) Wish I had thought of that
