Sup guys. I figure since I obviously have the best beat on this conference, I might as well load you up with another batch of predictions which will make you wonder if I do indeed have ESP. If you don't like my rankings, no bitching please, just go prove yourself on the dotball field. Last season I correctly predicted the 8 playoff teams, and I had most very near their actual ranking, fwiw...
And obviously, try not to gut mid-season new guys. New teams coming up are much harder to get a read on, so if you happen to be the team I predict to come in last place, try to keep your hurt little ego in check.
1. Nashville Hounds: I'm not quite sure how a team goes 15-1 then chokes in the first round, but Nashville did it. Still, doing fantastic all season and keeping your roster in large part together will go a long way. Hard to argue with giving this team this spot.
2. Minnesota Marauders: Long time title contenders will be one of the favorites once again this season. Every year that put together a great roster, and it doesn't look to be ending anytime soon.
3. Chicago Hedgehogs: Call this a homer pick if you'd like (as most will) but question marks for those who were ranked above them last season cause me to put the Hedgehogs here. They have very little roster turnover and will be going into the season with great chemistry, not to mention the death of the screen being a well imbraced change. Could this be the year that Chicago makes a jump into being one of the West's top teams, or am I hyping up a bunch of bias? The former I'm guessing, but I suppose we'll see.
4. D-League Dream Team: Wait....Wat? Yup I am putting a AAA team at #4. Simply put, they dominated their way to a championship and look to be the best AAA team coming up in a long time, perhaps better than CCCC. When no team comes within 30 points of you in the playoffs, you are pretty good.
5. Washington Wolfpack: The Wolfpack at 5? Perhaps I am letting his bets with hazy influence his calls... In all honeasty, no returning Pro team has as many new players as the Wolfpack. While hazy is obviously a quality owner, losing guys like George Street, as well as the rest of Pain's guys and some players to the Navs merge isn't gonna be easy. Not to mention they have to mess with early chemistry. How the mighty have fallen?
6. Northwest Nighthawks: Always a dangerous team, and bringing in some of Spokane's finest certainly does not hurt. They made the playoffs last season and had a strong showing in the playoffs against two Elite teams. Its tough to not put the Nighthawks as a playoff team, especially with their flashy new QB.
7. Timpanogos Thunder: Revamped roster and a season of USAPro recruiting under their belt, why not put them in the playoffs? Hell, one of their HBs with an open build has 120 spd, which is enough to win 9 games by himself imo. Look for the Thunder to upset a few teams.
8. Wala Wala Drunken Shriners: Beat everyone last season who wasn't the D-League Dream team, which is fairly impressive. Should be battling it out for a playoff spot at the very least.
9. Houston Toros: Conference champions out of AAA#1, so I suppose they deserve to be contending for a playoff spot.
10. Ketchikan Kamper Adventure Rentals: I know some of you are gonna call be crazy, but please take a set back and understand that the Kampers are my 2nd favorite team in the conference. Honestly however, they lost Dravz and they lost the screen, both of which they have leaned on heavily these past 2 seasons. Their D will still be solid, but I feel their offense will struggle to find its groove. 6-10 or 7-9 imo, but I do wish you guys luck proving me wrong.
11. Tallahassee Seminoles: 14-2 AAA team, this sounds about right. *shrugs*
12. New Jersey Battalion: Did they make the moves necessary to move into a playoff spot in USA Pro? I donno, but I suppose we'll see if they can take down some of their former AAA brethren.
13. Cincinnati Stoners: 12-4 in AAA isn't impressive so here they go.
14. Austin Longhorns: Teams who relied too much on the HB screen perhaps are in for a rude awakening.
15. Carson City Cubes: Coming off a horrid season you have a ton of inactives and virtually no roster turnover. Perhaps they'll be gutting soon, but regardless they will not even sniff the playoffs.
16. San Diego Demolition: Guttedish.
I hope you guys enjoyed um. Comments welcome. Wineing/complaining are not. If you are a AAA team, chances are I don't know very much about you, but historically, several of you will miss the playoffs and a couple might gut. Prove me wrong, don't cry about not being ranked #1 pls.
and of course.... West>>>East
