I have previously had a high level FB and OT. This is my first WR. Can someone give me some direction on what I should focus on in the early going?

What are you looking for from your WR? A speedy WR or a possession guy?

If you are going for speed, I'd go speed to 68 then agility to 68 and go from there.

I started with speed by pouring my first 15 into to it after rolling a 14.

What about catching and jumping? Is blocking important? And which SA's should I focus on, especially with my equipment.

What SA tree should I take with my Token Equipment piece.

To be honest, if you are going to do go with speed then I'd retire your guy, create him again, and train him on speed agility until you can use your SP's to get it to 48. No point in putting all those points in right away, you gain too much from training to use them that early.

Catching and jumping, no higher than 60 IMO. For your AE go with something with HF or Juke and get it to 10 to combine with your high agility.

Retire and start over since it's still offseason. Read up on slow building in the wiki or guides section. If you don't, your build will suffer due to inefficiency.
Imo, 68 speed and agility is the minimum for any type of receiver, be they speed, elusive, balanced, or possession - good mobility is 100% necessary for ball carriers/receivers.
Telling a receiver not to take their catching or jumping higher than 60 is stupid. Don't listen to that stupid advice.

Here's an idea:
Read through the VAs and SAs a WR has available, and pick 3 VAs and 1-4 SAs (get more SAs if they seem cohesive, less if they don't) Then look your selection and ask yourself, "What priority might a receiver like this place in their attributes?"
If speed should be the highest, raise speed, and so on. Build toward caps, especially early on, and visualize that you will build somewhat around your equipment.

If I don't use my SP's on speed, what should I use them on?

For how long?

Until your speed gets high enough through training that when you add your SP it adds up to 48.

Once Speed and Agility are at level 68 then what is the next one to focus on. Or train in the interim for that matter. Should it be vision and catching?

Get Catching to 60 next. You can train Catching and Vision or Catching and Jumping.

It's your choice. Prioritize the attributes.

If your looking for a more elusive build i honestly would argue that vision would be more important to cap then catching, but that's me and I'm trying to do something very different with my WR and I'm hoping it works out, as far as conventional wisdom about making a speedster i don't think I'll have very good advice as I don't really follow the conventional wisdom for WR's.
