Mekong will not be in this ranking because the thread would get too much hate-post even if they were ranked 16th. Meant to be a friendly analysis only.

1. Krungethep last season 13-3 third seed- This team has too many credentials not to put them in this slot. Fool is a good owner who has surrounded himself with some very knowledgable GM's who I have always thought a lot of. Arles who I have always been a fan of at Lost City is back. Sockamidic, Joe Rice,up and coming Texan. It's like a who's who in SE Asia History. Very talented in the build category and has kept their chem up to date.

2.Cambodia last season 11-5 seventh seed? - Cambodia plays slightly above average, but will always come to play. They have zero let down games and pick off teams that get lazy against them. Do not take this team lightly, they will show up they can beat you. This is a season where we don't have the ESL's and the Pa Dong's to overpower you.I don't think that they are on the level of Krungethep but a ranking any lower than this would be a bad mistake.

3.Portland -AAA#1 champ- Normally I wouldn't rank a newbie team this high, But as seasons change the difference in talent is shrinking. Knowledge is the new X factor. This team won a trophy and it takes good knowledge and consistancy to do that. Has kept their chem at a good level so no early season disapointments.
4. Rangoon- AAA record- Brings aboard Coachviking and UCLABUCSFAN so has a good feel for the game.Chem not too bad. Talent not too bad. may struggle somewhat adjusting to the diverse teams in this league.

5.Beijing- 8-8 8th seed- Barely made the playoffs last season but it was their first season.Edged out Winona by beating their ass early on in a game where Winona took them lightly. Winona regretted that game more than any as the season wore on. This team has one hell of a passing attack and if there is a weakness in your secondary they will find it.

6.Manilla- World League- yeah yeah I will get crap for this ranking but there was a reason they ended up 4-12. They also had a decent turnover this off season and their chem is a little lower. They might experience some early season defeats if they face the upper tier of the division early. I could be totally wrong and this team end up 16-0 who the hell knows. They know what the hell they are doing so they will be in the thick of things.

7.Palembang AAA- Tis team will benefit from Texan being a GM and in the know on several top tier teams. They are used to winning and I like Texan's eagerness to learn new things. He had contacted me in season 10 when he was facing off against Beijing during their run to a trophy. Talented team as are most teams in the Pro's .Chem a little lower than liked.

8. Winona 8-8 just missing the playoffs. I would like to rank these guys higher but Chem hits could prove catastrophic if harder early season games. Has the X-factor bringing aboard several great GM's including Jrq from the world league. This is the season they finally make the playoffs where they end up is up to them. Last season I felt they became over confident and wrote early teams off as victories including Beijing and Mekong. The recent falling out I had with Winona, will keep the bullshit rah rah rah out of this opinion.Snaza has always been a great owner. And I wish him only the best.

9. Ujung-AAA #2 champ. Brings aboard 2 of the most dominating defensive players that could play anywhere.Hampton(DT) and Lemmi Winks(DE) get used to the names guys they will give you fits. Fishdan is the best writer that their is in GLB. Se Asia Pro needed this team up here.No Hate just solid writing skills. Please don't criticize his analysis just for the sake of being a jerk. This forum has gotten to be Trash collection Central, and he will clean this up with his post. I am a big fan of his.

10.Anchorage 5-11- This team I think will rebound with the recent changes by Bort. Power team who used to kick ass during that era. Will bring the noise without the trash talk. Can stick it up your ass during any game.

11.Bali-7-9 Although I like Bali, their owner ,their agents, I just feel they are too under leveled. They have a rich history of over achieving and used to win games by defense alone. You must game plan to beat them or they will cost you a loss.

12. Surabaya-5-11 - They were in their first season and had a good start and a bad finish. Somewhere they went wrong and they have to figure out where. Team is on the edge, they need something or someone to push them to the other side Maybe a season and a half away from making the playoffs. Could be less think x factor.

13.Bacolod-3-13 first season in the pro's and took the lumps. Had a bad off season last season and could not recover. Hopefully my friend over there can turn things around this season.Great owner who just needs more allies. He has one in me. He has never talked nonsense but has taken it without lashing back as I do. great guy. Lash back on the field and piss in their wheaties.

14. Da Nang-AAA #2 - Good AAA team that I feel two jumps in two season's will prove catastrophic to their rich history of winning. Just too much of a jump in knowledge, talent and will be a shock to their system. Hpefully they won't give up early and give some teams at least a good game.

15. Tongduchon- 2-14- Inactive again? WTF? september 12th is the last day these guys where on. Training losses alone will put this team behind in talent. First team that should go CPU! I wish I could say something positive about this team but the game that they play Mekong they will all become active game plan their asses off beat us and then go to sleep again for a month.

wait...where did Pa Dong go? How am I supposed to get revenge on them?

I thought they lost to ESL?

Good analysis though flounder.

I'm not sure about the others on your #1 team, but I know Arles and Sock and they are both good guys who know their dots. Arles and I talk all the time.

Yeah we go back to season 3. He was always a step ahead beat Mekong in a AA title game by 2 or 3 i think.

Thanks for the writeup flounder, always love more fluff. Don't know that PDP can live up to the #3 spot, but we'll at least try to compete.

Thanks for the love Flounder. There's good chemistry in this forum, and I don't want to detract from that. I've only had one problem in 11 seasons with anything anyone posted -- I PMed that guy about it and he responded like a complete gentleman. People can rip on me all they want -- I'm not fragile, and I enjoy a *ahem* spirited discussion.

Nice write up Flounder. I think the Penguins at 3 is a little high, then again will the third time be the charm?

Thanks for taking the time to do this Flounder, really enjoyed it and I think your analysis is for the most part spot-on. I'd put Mekong in the top 3 with Cambodia and Krungthep, with any of the trio being well equipped to make a run for the title. The big dogs from the past may be gone (Pa Dong, Marauders, Hit Men, ESL, BLPP) but I think we're still in store for some epic battles this season.

Also - I wouldn't sleep on the Warlords or PDP either - they could be VERY good. These guys miss the first tier by just a hair imo. But the gap is narrow and easily closed.

I'm wasn't familiar with Fishdan's stuff, but had a look in the AAA forums and found some. Very good read. Hopefully we can get Jmarter, HurricaneBear, PRJ, Sirallen, Texan and all the others (even Mad Cow's was good! )who like to contribute in this manner active again this season. I vastly prefer these kinds of posts to the bickering and trash talk, and I suspect many others here do too.

Going WAAAAY back on me... Seamen were before my time here (we arrived in S7) but Kamakura were good. I don't know if they were quite "1st tier" though.. definitely right at the top edge of second tier though.

they beat esl in the playoffs and barel lost to BLPP in the conference championship in season 7 so they were damn good imo

Wow... so they did! Pretty impressive. But they barely beat this scrub AAA promotee in their second Pro game ever, so doesn't that temper things a bit?

now that i look at it. the katana had probably the hardest playoff stretch that season...

Lost city idols - beat pa dong and lost to the marauders by 1 point

ESL - you know the story here

BLPP - yeah

that is probably the hardest playoff schedule ever. lol
