well, if you were planning on slow building, you kind of screwed up... especially with training stamina. i would personally recommend a retire/re-roll, but if you want to keep him, speed to 68 cap.

for future reference, this is how to slowbuild:
there are two ways- A. Cap Build, and B. Training Focused

A. train attribute until attribute+SPs=48. continue placing SPs in 48 capped attribute until it gets to where you want it to be (often times 68) while training attribute #2. when attribute 1 is 68 capped, place SPs in attribute #2, rise and repeat.

B. train until it is no longer feasible to train the attribute (SP wise, i believe it is 33, where it becomes less worth while.), and then pour SPs into capped attribute. move onto another attribute, rinse and repeat.

option A focuses on getting the most out of natural gains, as they are worth more the higher the attribute is.
option B focuses on the great training %s you get when an attribute is fairly low.

for a corner, your main attributes are speed, agility, and vision. after those, probably jumping and strength, so work on those first. stamina is usually one of the later things you touch, probably training it with confidence.

Retire. Your highest skill is stamina, which while you eventually need to build up stamina, it should not be your highest attribute at this point, and for the most part should have been ignored. Even if it made sense to hold on to that many points, you pretty much ignored speed, agility, and vision, the three most important attributes for a CB. One if not two of these attributes should be much higher.

You still have a chance to turn your CB into an average player if you put all the points into speed and spend all of your points over the next 3 or 4 seasons on agility and vision. At that point this player can approach playing as an effective CB.

You both have your opinions here and well I do not agree with what you have to say 1 bit, I have looked at both of your CB's and well you 2 do not need to be giving advice on CB'S when your CB's stats wise are not great players, I have built 2 All-Star CB's in 2 different leagues and have built my players all the same, So at this time I will say thanks for trying to give advice but its crap to me.

Stats are just a nice bonus with shutdown CB's. I don't know about FatLoad, but Worker 3 has knows what hes talking about for sure. They both gave pretty good advice imo.

What stats for a CB would impress you?
Tackles? Typically means the players you are covering catch a lot of the passes thrown your way.
PD's? Typically means the QB's are willing to throw your way because your guy isn't covered very well.

It's fine that you don't agree with the advice, but the lack of stats on a CB is typically a good sign. Most of the tackles my corners get come on special teams. Coverage-wise, my CB's have done well.

stats ar efun...often the same stat can be interpretted two different ways...11 tackles...your man sure caught a lot of balls off my guy...or...guys with high speed and vision will often peel off coverage of their man and tackle someone else on play which is good...without watching a game...it's pretty difficult to tell if a cb had a good game by stats alone...

having said that...why ask for advice if you've built a bunch of all-stars...only to tell the people they are clowns...you got some good advice...if however...training stamina is the way to all-star players...keep it on the downlow b/c no one else is doing it and you'll ouperfrom everyone with your secret...but i've only been around since season 2...so what do i know...

i lol'd... i would love to see why you think my CB is not so great stat wise. 98 INTs (most in all of GLB as far as i know) for 30 TDs, 9 FF, 583 PDs, and 622 tackles is a fairly impressive stat line. usually when your PDs+INTs > tackles, thats a good thing. especially when you factor in that about 1/5 (usually a good estimate) of those tackles are in run support. i have worked with dh12 and have seen his builds. i have worked with guthrid (a little less known... but he also has a very good CB. 3rd most INTs as far as i know) and have seen his builds... and both of them can vouch that my build is above average to say the least. i have seen a lot of top CB builds, and i know how to build... in fact, i learned from one better builders of the early game (Turboboxer), and with all that knowledge, i know that capping stamina, is not the way to build. Duger's stamina isnt even capped yet. (its at 46.) there is absolutely no reason to have capped it this early. stamina is not a major attribute, and you missed out on mucho lvl gains on your major attributes.

Oh wow well this is not what I wanted to see when I logged in today. Take a day off from work and come back to a flame war and wow. I have to say guys the first post was me, the other post would have had to be a co-worker here, the guy is truely an idiot and thinks he knows everything about everything!

I originally posted here to get some ideas, I like to build players and try new things with them never haver I really cared to much for building players all exactly the same way after my 1st season here back on season 2 when I build 2 DT's and built them IDENTICAL with in 2 or 3 SP's of each other and one dominated the other I ended up retiring after 2 seasons, but seeing that this idiot that was on my computer here yesterday and made all kinds of changes including assigning SP's and accepting a contract offer for a team I guess I am just screwed and will have to wait until the end of the season to try and really do much with him! I have noticed that a few of you are all against the stamina being up there ( did not use any SP's on stamina was nothing but training and what was rolled ) First time I have actually tried it this way to see how high stamina could actually get just through D-League figuring if I could benifit any from it!

Well with all this being sad My apologies to the guys the my idiot co-worker decided to try and bash on it wont happen again computer goes home with me from now on!
