for playing a DT at DE? i need a strong LDE but it seems 90% of the DE builds are agi/spd so i have a DT with good enough agi/spd and a lot of STR that fits perfectly but i was wondering how big a hit he would take for playing out of position?

noone knows.
bort might, but even that is unlikely.
from what i have read, it doesn't work very well.

My old team tried that in season 4 or 5, when we wanted to run a 3-4. The penalty seemed pretty steep, because the two DTs we used were pretty damn good, but played like shit.
It's hard to find a strength DE, but it's worth it if you can.

To be honest the OOP isn't that bad..If you're using them to just NOT get pancaked by a power OT..They might not make a tackle but they do a servicble job in not getting pancaked and keeping the OT engaged..I've done that a few games.

This is basically correct, if you just want them to suck up space and not get pancaked it will probably be OK for you.
For the DT agent, it could suck, especially if they were productive @ DT.
