+6 speed?

Why are you bumping speed with CE on a possession receiver?

I guess a better question is, how do you define "possession receiver"? Because blazing speed isn't usually part of that definition.

The problem is, you have to get open on GLB, or else the QB won't bother throwing to you.

Getting open is as much a function of agility and catching as it is speed, especially for a possession receiver. Possession receivers aren't the guys you send on streak and post routes to catch 40 yard bombs, they're the ones you send on curls and come-backs who get open by being able to change direction faster than their coverage. Catching figures in by increasing the QB's confidence that you'll actually catch a ball in traffic -- Bort's said before that a QB will treat a covered receiver as open if he believes the receiver will make the catch.

As for "which stat should I invest in for a possession receiver", it's hard to go wrong with agility.

Depends on how much of a stat hound you are. If you want to see 1,500 yard seasons with 20+ TDs, you'll want a speedster. Possession receivers aren't usually so glamorous, but they're just as important to a team's success IMO.

i think most OC's are game planning to get first downs and move the chains. having said that, i think speed will always be the primary attribute, it's just that a possession receiver might want to spend more on jumping / catching / strength and VA's to maybe help from getting the ball knocked loose.

a speedster on the other hand has a shot at being a KR/PR. those guys get a lot of attention and a lot of stats. if your the fastest guy on the team early on then they might choose you to be that guy.

ultimately it's your choice - if you don't like him then retire him and go a different route
