Hi all...

This was my first player, created in Season 1. He's retiring in the off-season, I thought I'd get people's opinions on his build. Personally, I think now that I spent too much on SAs, especially early in his career. But let me know your thoughts. Any particular Attributes too low or too high for an MLB? What would you have different? Thanks...

J.

What where the naturals? I think more confidence, and have agility and speed higher. Was he getting out muscled much? Or out jiggered? I think he needed a bit more in defensive general, and have the CE on the other branch.

It's hard to find a piece of AE with Defense General. More Aura too, but that's just me. No AE's at all? That seems a waste.

Still, he looks like a good build.

Moooo!!! Damn right, but not for much longer I'm afraid...

I'd equipment in Strength, Speed, Agility and Tackling. I never got into AEQ, when it came in I, like a lot of people, were very wary of it and didn't think it would get as good as our standard equipment. Of course, newer players can take more advantage of it ( though I still just HATE the randomness of the shopping ).

Anyhow, to answer your questions, the Naturals where as follows :

Speed : 69.31 ( 22 in Equipment )
Strength : 69.23 ( 5 in Equipment )
Agility : 70.54 ( 10 in Equipment )
Tackling : 69.35 ( 5 in Equipment )

He got a few 'pancaked' alright, but as far as I know that's fairly normal ( as a lot of HBs / FBs and O-Line would have high Strength ). Yep, CE was in the Pass Rusher Branch ( I think at the time 'cos I'd been spending SPs on the Hard Hitter Tree and wanted to balance it a bit ).

Thanks for taking the time to have a look. If you don't mind me asking, when you say 'more confidence, agility and speed', how much more exactly?

I think that's about as good as you could have really done with a S1 day 10 player without the benefit of a tremendous amount of foresight. I wonder if the QB morale reducing SAs provided any benefit or not.

I'll take that as a compliment, thanks!

As for the QB Morale stuff, probably not. When I first started on SAs, what seems like ages ago now, I was under the mistaken impression that they went up to 3, not 10! So I started spending points on them to get them all to 3 or so across the board, and then realised my mistake.

I definitely wouldn't plan on spending half as many SPs on SAs with newer players...

I'd cap agility first and get that to the 68. By the time you've reached the 60 cap with your next one, speed, it'll be over 70 and close to the next cap. I think both speed and agility should end up at 74. Confidence to 60 is what I'll be aiming for with my LB too.

I'm now tinkering with the idea with a LB of capping vision first, intense training vision/agility before moving on to agility while training agility/speed. Then I'd go tackling (speed/tackling) and then strength (tackling/strength).

Thanks for the advice. I hate to retire my player, so the link probably doesn't work anymore...
