What statistics, and skills directly correlate to improving my character's pass defense? He is a solid tackler already but I would like to improve the pass defense skills a bit more. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need a lot more of agility. Don't be shy to bring it to 70.

yeah speed agility and vision 3rd cap those 3

spd and vis at least 4 cap, agi 3 cap

speed, agility, and vision all to the 3 cap atleast... speed and agility to the 4 cap if you are serious about it.

also jumping to soft cap.
