With the new system for PeeWee in place, I just thought it'd be a good idea to get all the information on Promotions/Relegations in one place for PeeWee dotball (and for great justice). Since I don't know everything about it though, and some of what I'm posting may be incorrect, I'd appreciate those of you who do know what's going on to fill me in and correct me if I'm mistaken.
Disclaimer: I make no claim that everything here is correct, unless I hear it from a reputable source. Eventually, this will be very accurate, but I need your help to make it that way!
Gold League - 32 Teams
Relegations: At the end of the season, the 8 teams with the the worst performance will be relegated to Silver (as far as I know, they will be placed randomly).
Promotions: If you're here, you're among the elite. Only place you can go from here is down.
(AT LEAST) 8 down / 8 up between Gold and Silver
Silver Leagues - 256 Teams
Relegations: There are a lot of thoughts going on about how relegations in Silver will work, if there are any. Darkus has commented that there are no definitive plans yet. Other theories say:
- No Silver team will be demoted, unless they go CPU.
- Because at least a 1/4 of teams in Gold are demoted to Silver, there should be at least a 1/4 of teams moving from Silver demoted to Copper.
Promotions: The Champions from each of the 8 Silver Leagues will be promoted to Gold status at the end of the season. The 8 teams dropped from Gold will take their place (I assume).
(AT LEAST) 16 down / 16 up between Silver and Copper
Copper Leagues - 512 Teams
Relegations: None. This is where CPU teams reside and newly owned teams start their climb for the top.
Promotions: There is no definitive answer on movement from Copper to Silver. The 16 League Champions will be promoted, and the Conference Champions have a good chance of being promoted as well (so long as the teams are not CPU).
Notes:
- There is no definitive answer on movement between Silver and Copper. Stay tuned for more information. (thanks to TT for pointing this out)
- There is the possibility that NO teams will drop from Silver -> Copper. As long as a team is continuously owned, it will probably remain in Silver.
- There may be more movement than the 8/16 I mentioned. If a team goes CPU during the season, I assume they will automatically be dropped into Copper the following season. This will open up more slots in the respective Leagues.
My Personal Thoughts:
- By the numbers, the Gold Teams are very elite company. They represent 4% of the total teams playing PeeWee ball. Damn.
- There are too many teams in PeeWee
Please help, and maybe we can get this stickied for posterity.
