I am sure this has been a hot topic but I went back 5 pages and either missed it or there wasn't a thread on it.

What do you say?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I liek possesion reciver better as it also gives a bonus to catching the ball Nerves of steel shoudl only be used if you still have a problem with it after that.

68 catching, 60 carrying and soft capped strength will all, but eliminate knocked loose.

you mean 1'st capped strength( 48.06).

all those lvls .... 48.06, 60.51, 67.97

are referred to as "softcaps" regardless of lvl unless you specify 1'st cap, 2'nd cap, etc.

I know.. I know.. I'm probably just being a dick, but I'd rather people who don't know and read posts like this get it right from the start.

it still amazes me how much I can go about explaining softcaps and what they are to a player who has been around for even 4-5 seasons and doesn't know.

not that you don't Mob-6... I'm just sayin

No, I mean soft cap it. If you aren't at a cap, that would imply that you would take it to the nearest cap which would be the 1st one you encounter. Do you know of any movies that call themselves "(Insert Title Here) 1?" Or is it much more common for the first one not to be categorized with the number 1? It was Die Hard, Die Hard 2, etc. Legally Blond, then Legally Blond 2. You first encounter the soft cap, then the second cap, then the third cap, etc. Get you rhetoric straight if you are going to come down on people, it is commonly accepted in this game the way I have laid it out for you. If it bothers you that much, go post your rationale in the GLB general area and let the community fill you in.

I disagree with this, fwiw. Catching (as noted by bort) has no effect on anti-KL rolls (though I still recommend 68 catching). 60 carrying and 48 strength is a good place to start, but I doubt it'll quite eliminate them in the higher leagues with DBs jacked with jackhammer.

Imo possession receiver > Nerves of steal, fwiw... Also 48 carry+48 strength+ 15 possession should do enough for you to still make a living, as I'm not sure I'm down with using 25 SP (5 levels) to 2-cap carrying.

Possession WRs shouldn't need nerves of steel just like they shouldn't need sure hands. They shouldn't have enough drops or knocked loose balls to justify taking those VAs, and if you get to the point where you have 1 drop or knocked loose every other game, is it worth investing 15 points in something that is then not a weakness?

How many knocked loose balls has your possession guy had this season? If you level carrying to 48 soon enough, natural level ups of the minor attributes increased bonus will take it to 60 which I think has been very helpful. I would agree though, don't point carrying to 60.

I was going by the Wiki. maybe you should go correct it.

and it wasn't directed at you. maybe I didn't make that clear. i thought I did.

and I also know what the "general GLB community" would say. they say a lot of things. mostly crap.99% of the genuine questions or comments on the main GLB forum get met with the same responses that aren't helpful and only serve to make those posters feel better about themselves.

but again, you knew that.

and the difference, which you obviously know.. is that there are still many, many players who dont know. hence my post.

believe me, I've told people to softcap an ability and they ask me what that means .

peace.

Why Die Hard as an example, then followed by Legally Blonde?? Who are you and why would those two movies ever exist in the same collection??

Agility. WRs are supposed to have great agility. This makes them better at running routes and therefor providing better catch opportunities. Open = None knocked loose.
