it was an illegal lateral, about six inches forward, and way too close to call live. i buy the nfls animation on it about as much as i do their spygate explanations. on the overhead shot you can slow it down and see the ball travels forward about half a yard, at least i personally am convinced. so it was an impossible one-in-a-million break. you can make an argument about the lanes thing but it technically should still have been called back. bolt of lighting, act of god
the in the crease goal is even easier to call because thats exactly how they called it all season, no goal. to suddenly stop in the cup finals is absurd. they probably had the better team and would have likely prevailed anyway, they still had a final game if they didnt win that ot game. but that goal absolutely should have been disallowed. its not even debateable in my mind and i dont think thats homerish at all
