Welcome everyone to this 1st edition of SportsCenter and we will begin with some interviews! The 1st one who gladly accepted to talk with our host, Larry Jennings, is the owner of the Chocolate City Cha Chings, PierreThomas! Lets play this interview for you watching this thread

Larry: Hi Pierre! How is it going?

Pierre: Going as good as ever I guess.

Larry: How do you feel now that we are in the preseason?

Pierre: GLB has this excitement to it that starts around day 30 and extends all the way through the first few days of the offseason. Everyone is excited about the playoffs and the first few days of free agency. For a team owner this time of the season is usually the most work. Now that we are through this that work slows to boredom and the coordinators are the ones excited to try out the new sim. For me it is just an extremely long wait until day 4 when we play our first real opponent. Luckily we have a great group and the team forum stays fun year round.

Larry: We know that it is not your 1st stint in USAPL, how does it feel to be back again in this league?

Pierre:A lot better than the first time we were here. In season 8 we made the playoffs but if felt dirty because of the strong i slam. That was easily the most frustrating season in the game. Then in season 9 I got fed up with some glitches and basically took the season off and raised cash which was well needed.

Larry: Now, lets go back in time, what is the history of your team?

Pierre: We started in BBB#6 East which was a hell of a conference. A lot of good teams originated there but I think we may be the last one remaining at high levels. The Flying Elvis', NC Nudists, Dallas Longhorns and some other very good teams came from that league. We moved our way up a league just about ever season but continued to build for the future along the way. A lot of people think we are a slow build team but we are not even though we did use a lot of slow build tactics along the way. Season 7 we really started to round our builds out and that season I felt we could play with anyone in the game. We had a nice when over Dryden, played close with the Krazy Monkeys and really felt good about the team. This is the first season where I feel like we can play with any team in the game. I'm not saying we are the best because we are not, just that for the first time since season 7 we can go toe to toe with any team out there.

Larry: Right now, who was for you the most valuable guy on your team last season?

Pierre: That is nearly impossible to answer since everyone plays such a huge part in what we do. Leon Lett is hands down the best NT in the game. I know others will mention guys like Peoples Elbow and a few other great DTs. Unlike those other greats Leon gets insane production from the NT spot which is pretty much unheard of. I feel like our top 4 corners are as good as any corners in the game and every player on the defense has an amazing build. We don't have a Jimmy Johnson or Ken Cote at DE but we have 4 guys that can all get to the QB at any time and they all do it enough to give us a hell of a pass rush. Our LBs are all well built but are kind of cheated since they are stuck behind our defensive line and in front of our secondary. They just don't get the plays the should. I love our safeties but if I had to mention the other really big piece of our defense it would be Taxi Driver at FS. He is a game changer and a player that will get a lot of recognition before all is said and done.

On offense we have a very good offensive line, our QBs are both extremely well built and we have a blocking FB that can crush people. Our WR core from top to bottom is very good and any one of them can make a big play. All in all Barry D' is a fantastic WR that just does amazing things. He has some games where he isn't very impressive then all the sudden he'll show up with 300 yard game. He is an impact player. Ironhead doesn't get much recognition but is a damn good power back. Then of course how could I mention the offense without mentioning the Tick. I know you asked for one guy but I can't give you one guy on a roster of 55.

Larry; How do you approach this 11th season in GLB?

Pierre: I approached this offseason completely different than seasons past. I used to look for the players with the best builds. This season I tried to identify players that have good hidden attributes. I cut some of the best built players I've seen in the entire game this season. Oldarmy's level 69 WR had a beautiful build but he sucked for the longest time. King Ash was our elusive back before the Tick and he had an amazing build but released him in favor of The Tick. At WR we brought in some very well built players that have been productive in the pro leagues. I used to not care about production and believed that it was just the system but now I know better and really took everything in to consideration. Short version: Traded lolbars for lolxfactor.

Larry; Time for a quick prediction: Who has the most chances to win the USAPL crown this season?

Pierre: Shit, it is anybody's race. Lincoln, WW, OFG, Gurupies and some others all have a great shot. I'd be lying if I didn't think we were ready to compete but we'll have to prove it before I can back up my thoughts.

Larry: Well, it is time folks, thanks Pierre for coming here, it was a pleasure having you as our guest and good luck for the season to come!

Pierre:Thanks Larry, enjoyed it and can't wait to get the season rolling.

Now, the next one who gladly accepted to talk with our host, Larry Jennings, is the owner of the New Jersey Blaze, Blln4lyf!

Larry: Hi Blln!

Blln: Hey there Larry! I took a look at a few of your old episodes in A5, looks like we are in for quite a treat here!

Larry: Thanks! How do you feel now that we are in the preseason?

Blln: Well the offseason is always crazy up here due to recruiting and normally at this point you tend to test your new weapons and not much else. However, this season with all of the new plays it is just as much work as a week ago so I've been busy trying to get a grip on the sim. Like you know, the preseason is not fun, so I can't wait for the season to start and to get the ball rolling.

Larry: You had such a good rookie season here in USAPL last season, how can you explain the success you had last season?

Blln: Well coming up from AAA I knew our team didn't have the roster to compete in USA Pro. After a lot of recruiting we came into the season with our backups almost as equally talented as our starters. This was something the Blaze had never experienced and it opened up a great rotation for us that kept our guys fresh. A few games our ST MVP returner Catch 22 came through with some TD returns that would not have happened in the past. Having the right offensive weapons that matched the current sim and a very balanced defense that was not weak against anything in particular helped as well.

Larry: Now, lets go back in time, what is the history of your team?

Blln: We started in USA BBB #12 back in season 2. We were always a playoff team, but couldn't make the jump in the playoffs, losing several times in the first or second round. I was more of a casual owner at this point, and didn't get into the AI's like I am today. A big portion of our team is still intact today, but most of us just joined the game at the end of S1 or in the offseason so we all made our mistakes building early on. Anyway the first season I really got into this game was in S5, when we made it to the conference finals, but lost big. Due to the promotion system we got moved up to A6 in which we won a year later, and then the year after that we won the championship in AA3. Then one season later and we made it to the Pro's!

Larry: Right now, who was for you the most valuable guy on your team last season?

Blln: This is a hard question to answer because there are so many players on our team that do not play at glorious positions, but are right up there with the best of them. Our starting Center, Marcao "Wall" Ezequiel is one of the best out there imo. Our Blocking TE, Jilly The Pooh Bear, helped cement our run game and often directly lead us to a bunch of big gains on screens by taking out 2 defenders before the play would develop. One of our DT's, Albat Haynesworth, had an excellent debut season for us and really helped our pass rush since we didn't get huge production in that area from our DE's. Then we had all three of our starting LB's play exceptionally well. Wife. Beater. completely owned his side of the field and Don't You Hate Pants? completely shut down most TE's. Then our DB's were excellent across the board, with three of fanaticsports21 dots leading the way. Then at the glory positions our Rushing QB, Georg Packert, had a huge season for us rushing for over 1.5k yards on the regular season and our MVP Returner Catch 22 also had a great debut. I could go and on as everyone contributed in a large way but there was one player on our team who really stood out, Furious Monotony. Even if he was doubled or tripled, he would still make plays by both juking the defenders and breaking tackles. Over 2k receiving yards, just shy of 1k rushing and 90+ broken tackles is deserving of almost any teams MVP.

Larry; How do you approach this 11th season in GLB?

Blln:This was the first season I recruited early, due to a first round exit in the playoffs so I feel more confident about my team than ever. Almost every player we added has a chance to end up as a starter for us, and there was not a single roster move that was a downgrade for us. Now it is all about getting the right system to utilize our players, and I am working on that as we speak.

Larry; Time for a quick prediction: Who has the most chances to win the USAPL crown this season?

Blln: There are a ton of talented teams, so I do not think there is a clear cut favorite atm, especially since every team makes a lot of roster moves each offseason but as for a top 4 I would have to include OFG, WW, MM and the Blaze, with at least 5 other teams having a good chance to over come my early season 11 guesstimate.

Larry: Well, it is time folks, thanks Blln for coming here, it was a pleasure having you as our guest and good luck for the season to come!

Blln: Have a good one Larry, it was fun to be here.
