anyone have a strength LDE build???

I'm working on one. Seems effective at the lower levels. Str and Agility are about the same. I get plenty of hurries and once I bring speed up a bit more those should be sacks. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1241690

My non-booster has finally started to perform OK since last season. His speed is still so low that he's not very useful in pass rush. He looked pretty good in today's game, but then so did most of our DEs against much higher O-linemen. D-line seems to be doing a little better in general this season.

Here's his highlights today, all three featuring double pancakes of the ROT and TE. All equipment in strength (no CE), set to bull rush.

TO answer your question - yes there are some. Many folks still prefer to have agility as the mian focus (speed secondary) and strength no more than 60-70.
However, having a high str DE that is still quick and fast enough is VERY effective at LDE in particular.

My guy at level 45 also continuosuly breaks double teams, pancakes both and even the FB afterwards getting to the HB. Strength is over 100, but his speed and agility are only between 3rd and 4th cap.

I have a very young DE started to help "fix" problems I had with this Freak - but he is many many seasons away fro his godliness...

So yes there are some, most "bad" in builds, but they can be very effective and game changing against run teams in particular. My DE led the divisions in hurries last season. DO I wish it was sacks - sure - hurries still help and he was still in the top ten in sacks.

As he progresses, we will see if his "lack" of speed and agility are a henderance more so than his Str is a bonus.

He just signed, but the 1 preseason game so far, I liked what he did a lot. 100 strength, 85+ agility, 70+ speed

Mine is currently level 30 and i have equip in speed and agi to keep them all roughly equal. Hes doing pretty well. once i have the base spd and agi high enough i might switch his gear to str and try the bull method, but for now elusive works well and his high base str helps him not get pancaked

My strength DE is playing RDE this season, but was built as a LDE obviously. He hadn't had any success up until this point, so I signed him with a minors uncapped team to see if he could do anything against lower levels. I'm not sure if he would do anything against real teams still, but the sim is starting to finally move a little bit more into his favor.

0.09 away from hitting 90 natural strength with him, finally got vision to the first cap and speed and agility to 70ish

Yep, I'm a big fan. He won a AA MVP last season and is currently in 3rd through 2 games. Awesome run stopper and very respectable pass rusher. I made a similar thread last season:
