What are the best veteran abilities to set your CB? Looking for a high PD/Intercept player.

ballhawk is probably the best IMO... i like clutch... a lot of people seem to like 3rd down stopper and long reach...

feel free to experiment!!! the VAs aren't set in stone anymore as you can rearrange many of your points every season

ball hawk is undoubtedly the best VA for a CB. No one in their right mind will argue that one. After that, it get's a little murky. Football Genius, Clutch, 3rd stopper and Long Reach are some that are commonly used after Ball Hawk

That's your opinion and I think it's ok. But the real issue I am having with Ball Hawk is it's crap. Now what makes you think it's so good? That's all I'm asking, not looking for a fight or debate. Just wondering what you think you are seeing that makes it "the best"

Cause I sure as shit aint seeing any difference.

it 'says' that it increases your speed agility and vision markedly after you see the ball... i guess if your guy plays extremely close man to man D then it may not be as effective as someone playing off of their man... or someone playing zone.

so i know you didn't ask me my opinion... but if it is additive... a 30% increase in speed agility and vision is huge

I know what it says. I also know 30% is huge. 5% is huge. I also know it should work in zone. The question is.

What is it you're seeing that makes you think it's so good?

Also it's been in the bug forum for a while that it's broken. I wonder if it's been "fixed" yet? Or is it still broken?

I've seen my CB intercept and deflect balls thrown to other receivers (not just the one he's covering), which he never used to do before I invested in Ball Hawk.

Well tbh, I have seen that before with my season 2 corner i retired before ball hawk was around. I also see it done with my new corners and no ball hawk.

UnderDogs has a point. What it says it does and what it does are two very different things

I'm pro Ball Hawk by the way

Ball Hawk
This player has a nose for the ball. Each level of Ball Hawk gives a +2% bonus to speed, agility, and vision from the moment the player sees a pass coming until it is caught or dropped. Applies on both defense and offense.

So we have to "see the ball coming" before BH will activate. Isn't that less than 1 second a boost to stats? Could it be because the boost is so short time-wise that we notice a lesser difference than what we expected?

So, in conclusion, you can't see it working but still put points into it. Pretty sweet deal.

Depends on the definition of "sees a pass coming". I interpret that to when the CB sees the QB start to make his pass (which of course does require a vision check) and ends when the pass is caught or hits the ground. That could be several seconds if it's a long pass. And, as I've mentioned, I've seen my CB on the left side of the field stop following his guy right as the ball is thrown, run over to the center-right side of the field, and make the deflection. I attribute that to Ball Hawk.

I have seen corners without Ball hawk do that, as I stated before. I would just say that's a decent build.

This is the reason I maxed out Long reach and have Ball hawk behind it instead of the other way around.
However, I've seen my guy beat and recover to get a deflection. I wonder how much ball hawk had to do with that and how much was long reach?

IMO

Ball Hawk
3rd Down Stopper
Jack Hammer
Football Genius
Clutch
Long Reach.

I would go in that order probably
