I have roughly compiled a data analysis of the current rosters and here are the results I have determined. This is not supposed to be perfect in anyway, especially since I developed the formula a few seasons ago on the fly while wasting time during one of my classes .

The numbers next to the team represent the score out of 100 that the team recieved

Western Conference
Durham Ice Odyssey - 99.00
Kansas City Gorillas - 98.15
Thunder Bay Bloodhounds - 95.71
St. John's Salty Dogs - 94.61
Manitoba Aftershocks - 94.34
Oregon Octopi - 93.05
Simcoe Warriors - 92.95
Moose Jaw Dragoons - 91.30
Tradewest Battletoads - 88.85
Labrador Retrievers - 88.19
Victoria Crush - 87.61
Thunder Bay Mules - 87.46
Indy Horse!! - 86.63
Kansas City Rams - 84.69
Grand Prairie Muskies - 78.40
Maracaibo Stingrays - 0.00

Eastern Conference
The Bastard Sons of Doug Flutie - 98.30
Manitoba Matadors - 97.24
Kingston Poopsters - 96.97
Charlesburg Black Iron Dragons - 94.89
Texas Death Dealers - 94.77
Saskatoon Spitfires - 94.52
Yellowknife Rented Mules - 94.50
Queen City Black Cats - 93.03
Medicine Hat Witch Doctors - 89.78
Cobden Muskrats - 89.67
Village Dogs - 88.36
Newfoundland Owls - 87.44
Magnificent Bastards - 87.07
Providence Radicals - 86.09
Bayou Warfare - 83.88
Adriana Lima Beans - 15.18

These numbers were attained by taking each team by their current roster and breaking them into the following categories:

Starting Offensive Line - 25
Starting Offensive Skill - 20
Starting Defensive Line - 25
Starting Defensive Skill - 15
# Depth * Average Depth Level - 15

Each category was normalized to 1 by the max value that a team had in that category and then multiplied by the value next to the category to get a score out of 100.

The google spreadsheet that I performed the calculations on is
Western: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tkGqAZt4vMGEumHudvqCfig&output=html
Eastern: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tlsdLcvkejj80rkqlw_fk7A&output=html

Other notes:
- Starters are simply the highest level(s) at that position, the depth chart is not factored in at all.
- For determining the average starting levels I included a 0 if they did not have a player for that position currently. Also I went with the assumption of a standard 4-3 defense. Sorry if your score did not reflect you running a 3-4.
- I also did my best to ignore any CPU players (You really shouldn't be using CPU's at this level) and anyone who's contract ends on Day 1. If I accidentally included some: oops!
- The ratings between conferences do not necessarily relate. The numbers were normalized on a per conference basis.
- I will NOT be re-working these ratings just to account for your players boosting. I used the rosters as of 3:30 PM CDT 8/06 to avoid anyone boosting yet
- These rankings are based on level ONLY. Build is not reflected at all.

Pretty cool, this looks pretty close to what Stobie's base numbers were (just based on looking at my team).

Did BSofDF get many new players this season? I know that thier levels were pretty high last year too (higher than ours anyway) but I hadn't thought that high.

Uh, so. I guess my team doesn't exist?

Thanks for the work and it will be interesting to see how this shakes out in the end.

Look out for the poopsters - these ratings fail to take into account the lack of SI as a GM factor.

Whoops, accidentally missed you. I'll fix that right now.

You were in the spreadsheet, just missed you when I was typing it in.

lol @ rankings based solely on levels.

We haven't even signed all our players yet, tbh. There are some still soaking up free cash on the Waxers and other teams.

and how are they soaking up cash?

Do you mean they are getting equipped with contracts expiring?

They're already equipped, but yeah we're still waiting on some to come over. It's nice having a network of farm teams.
