Does the special equipment attribute "Deflect ball chance" help CBs? Or is it only for deflecting the ball at the line?

Related question.. is a +2 speed, +3% deflect ball chance a decent piece for a level 22? Or should I continue rolling for either a sc or sv piece right now?
I'll temp buy the piece as I have monies and it's an upgrade over my reg EQ.

my first CB has both, the ones you guys played last season only have SV
it's why DADDY didn't beat Valletta tbh lol

Ok.. rolled a superior vision piece with no other bonus. I've rolled 10 times max and have rolled 2 pretty good pieces. Anyways, is it better than +6 speed, +11 deflect chance?
I'm also returning kicks (not very well), so that's something to consider. (the speed I'll lose, not saying SV helps with returns)
