What sort of attributes / VA are needed to successfully play on power tackling and create fumbles?

My 51 LB was built to create fumbles, but didn't work out so well this season. Was wondering what is needed to not miss so many tackles (15% miss tackle regular season) and actually create fumbles. Played roughly 75% of games on power, rest on balanced.

Some of his stats:

90+ speed
70+ agility
60+ vision
85+ tackling
65+ strength
10 Monster hit
FF chance 12%
15 power tackler
35 jumping
40 stamina

Interesting. So 85+ tackling really isn't working out for you huh? That's odd. In your case I'd probably bump up Strength a bit more and train the hell out of Stamina and Confidence. Depending on how many plays you are getting per game, it may be a problem of just being drained and therefore run over. Confidence wouldn't be amiss because getting run over or missing a tackle sucks, so you can protect yourself by cushioning the blow a little.

For VAs, you might want to pick up Sure Tackler as well, to help mitigate the missed tackles.

I don't think it's odd that 85 tackling doesn't work. IMO it has diminishing returns above 70 somewhere. I don't know that I believe an average LB should play on power. It's one thing for a DT who will most of the time be making his attempts in the backfield or at the line. It's another story for a LB who has to make tackles in space. If you were going to go with a FF type MLB, playing on power tackler, I would go with something that gave a big make tackle % bonus, preferably two pieces for around a 30% bonus, unless you played in a scheme where missing tackles didn't hurt that bad. I'd try to eventually triple cap strength, tackling, speed, and agility and probably second cap vision. I'd try to work to around 6 in monster hit and load up on the power tackler VA.

Here are some examples of your missed tackles, so people can look and decide some of the reasons why you missed them:

Just as Darren said, getting your Strength, Speed, Tackling, and Agility to 68 naturally would help. The main part about tackling that you have to consider when determining what would help you the most is the average approach vector you take to tackle. The more head to head missed tackles would suggest increasing strength and tackling. If you miss more from the sides, you may want to invest in your agility and tackling. If you are shedding a blocker and then missing a tackle, look at your vision, agility, tackling, and strength. If you tend to miss more tackles late in the game or on longer drives, then look at your confidence and stamina.

Just looking at your attributes and your general role as backup LB, I would say try to raise your agility to 80+ without sacrificing your Speed below 90. Continue to pump your strength to 68. During preseason, try to pump up Sure Tackler to see if it helps. Your build definitely shows evidence that while having very high tackling is tempting, it is not worth it to sacrifice agility or strength.

Strength, Strength, Strength. I have a 48 HB that devours LB's just due to strength alone. He is 110 strength and breaking 20+ tackles a game.
One of the only LB's to hit him 1 on 1 and take him down is a buddies of mine who's MLB has strength of 96. His LB also has speed of 75 to my HB's 68 speed.

Play ST.

Clutch has the ability to make an SA fire more. So on 3rd/4th down your Monster hit would activate more.

I'd really like to see a build like that with tackling and strength swapped.

He's talking about the 3 level up boosts per season that give you 15 SP's. It costs 600 flex points to boost 3 times per season.
