What are your thoughts on a shutdown coverage AEQ?

My linebacker is a MLB and I would assume would be covering HB/FB position for the most part.

It's a +1 Shutdown Coverage, +2 agility piece. I bought it regardless because I can always search for new EQ if I need to.

That is a bloody nice piece...the question is what fraction of the time is your LBer used in coverage?

Rather young LB (farm team) so the AI isn't really taken advantage of yet. I'll have to ask the DC...

I would get it and hold onto it. Eventually when you're on a quality team either you have a DC who can take advantage of a MLB who is great in coverage, or you don't and you simply find another piece.

It provides a fairly significant bonus to pass deflection and I have to believe it also provides a bonus to the "jackhammer" effect.

I just rolled a +3 vision +1 Shutdown Coverage on my LB that's a LOLB.. I was pretty happy about it.. Snatched it up, sold my Tunnel Vision piece and upgraded it.. I'm looking forward to some good results from it..

a trick that might be worth trying is to play off a little bit, to bait QBs into throwing to your man.

I play LOLB and have a +2 Strength, Super Vision and I just rolled a Shutdown Coverage with no att bonus....should I grab it? wouldn't mind having both I guess....but with no att bonus is it worth it?

If you can get it within a point of your basic piece yea it's probably worth it.
