my player is level 16. he is starting in front of someone that is probably better than him, but my safety has better stats. when i get skill points all i do is give the points to speed jumping and tackling. if you do this your player will b better in no time!

Speed, then agility and vision, then strength and tackling.

68: Speed, agility, vision
48: Strength, jumping
Train to 30: Stamina, confidence, tackling

Come back when you get that.

First clue you're getting bad advice: When those offering it don't ask what kind of SS you are making first.

Notice how such "advice" is all you've gotten so far?

Doesn't matter. The model I presented is a basic template to -begin- any SS.
From there, you customize.

Hate to say it, but that I-bench-my-guys-for-4-seasons - guy is right.

First, make a safety. Then specialize.

The first attribute is essential to both main SS types. The priorities of the rest are much different depending on which way you want to take your dot. Other than speed for a run stopper, the order listed is way out of whack.

What order do you suggest for a run stopper then?

For a HH type, tackling needs to be right after speed. Strength and vision after depending on your style and SA distribution, including AEQ which is a great way to pick up the best SAs from the coverage tree. Agility is the most important out of the remaining attributes (jumping, confidence, even catching if you choose).

The "OMG! Moar agility" crowd will scoff. But you can survive in that area on equipment and training until you can bring it up with SPs. You should still probably leave at least half of your equipment on agility throughout his career though.
