Right now my utility LB has 73 str, 87 speed, 85 agility, 63 tackling, 55 vision.

Of course I'm working on raising vision right now, but what are your thoughts on agility? 10 of those agility points are from equipment and 5 of the strength points are from equipment.

Do you think that much agility is necessary and that I should put some of those points into speed or tackling? Thinking about it a LB generally doesn't need to have that really high agility like CBs use to make cuts and stick with a WR or that Dlineman use to try and breaks blocks constantly. Maybe he would benefit from more speed to get to the ballcarrier on those screens and pitches? He is the backup LOLB/MLB and the starting LILB in 3-4 packages.

Any advice on where to go from here with him and what to do with that equipment?

I think they need agility more than anyone else. If they are in pass coverage, they'll often be covering a HB who's gonna force them to change directions quickly to cover them. They could also be put into pass coverage on a TE who runs like a WR.

If they are blitzing, they'll need to shed blocks, and they'll want that acceleration and first step.
If they are stopping a running play, then agility helps more inside the box than speed does. For outside sweeps, speed would be more useful, but anything that's an offtackle play or even more towards the middle of the field will value agility more than speed. And I've found that strength and tackling are important for making a tackle, but agility is also a huge part of the roll, especially against elusive backs.

Yeah agility is king at every LB spot, but mostly MLB.

So keep the equipment in agility? I know it is important but thought maybe 85 was overkill when it is 75 natural.

I definitely would not call 85 overkill, especially since elusive backs can probably still fake you out with 85 agility

Linebackers would be good with 100 agility. 85 is definitely not over kill.

I'd be tempted to move the 5 points from strength into speed since he plays LOLB as well.... You'll have to make that determination by watching the replays. Definitely stay with vision for now.

It's not that agility is too high but speed can be higher without sacrificing the ability to accelerate. And like idm says you can accomplish that by moving the eq out of strength, into speed.

Speaking of vision . . . 2, 3 cap? How high should he take it?

For my LB, I noticed he reacted to the ball MUCH better once I started pushing vision past the second cap.

MLB is the spot which can actually sacrifice (and should) speed for agility. I think MLB should end up with more agility than any other LB spot.
