I just like the fact how in the LB tree there is no big only monster, then as a safety it's like well, are they both good? do I focus on one? oh well

monster hit, big hit, diving tackle are pretty nice
Not a lot of research is down on stuff like growl or wrap up, but i'm guessing growl might help more than people think (lower morale before tackling making easier to tackle and if you trigger a big/monster hit in the process, you'll have a good shot at forcing a fumble)

I wonder if they do stack like that. You're right that it's a great combo if they do.

anybody ever put together a successful hard-hitting FS build?
all the hard-hitter safety builds I've seen been SSs.

Well, FSs are usually playing further back in deep zones and wouldn't get a chance to use the hardhitting attributes as much as a SS who plays close to the line in run support or manned up on a TE.
To get 68 in strength and tackling, in addition to VAs and SAs based on hard hitting, you'll have to sacrifice some things like jumping, vision, coverage SAs and coverage VAs like zone specialist, ball hawk, etc... I think it's easier to get away with those things from the SS position.

I've had the pleasure of DCing a build that sacrificed a bit of agility and vision for strength and tackling. Along with some decent hard hitting VAs. It was very interesting and very successful when used right.

Until double teams receive a bit more love from Bort and co, safeties can be a tremendous help against the run. With the right build either safety becomes a pseudo LB.

Might be interesting to see a hard hitting FS build that tries to get hits like this
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=602108&pbp_id=8106312
Perhaps more strength then vision so you get to the player slower, but the strength helps you knock the ball lose a little bit more with jackhammer and power tackler I think it might just work.

To be honest that guy is probably pure speed.
Speed does a lot to force fumbles when you are running with a full head of steam it can cause fumbles.
My F.S. has 33 str and 35 tackling in AAA he is level 38. Going to be working on that soon. He has 2 forced fumbles. Anytime he forces a fumble he was with a full head of steam with a square hit.
I know that F.S. has hardly any str or tackling, just by looking at the bar. His PD bar indicates he probably has a shitload of speed though. But for level 60 to have those bars is pretty bad.

to be honest.. for a successfull FS you don't really need the big-hitting abilities(well at least from the FS spot)... My FS has always been highly successful, doesn't really miss any tackles, and get's to the ball carrier/WR very quickly. now his stats aren't the best, but that's because the teams LB's and DE's get most of the tackles before anyone can even reach the safeties...
here's the build... at level 47...
str 48 ............. 5-4-4-6-1
spd 97 .......... 3-2-2-2-3
agi 71
jmp 50
sta 45
vis 64
tack 54
ctch 37
VA..
ball hawk 10
zone spec 11
football geni 8

i got a piece of EQ that has monster hit as a FS..it's fun
have forced a few fumbles with a combo of that\big hit in SEA Pros, though i don't claim my build is the shit by any means..

I will say wrap-up seems to be useful on my FS. I managed to snag a piece of AE with it early on and I'm now up to 3 points in it. The result? I've missed only one tackle so far this season, and it was against argueably the best RB in the entire league.
As it is, I've started building him towards being able to being a potential big hitter. I naturally had more strength and tackling that then other FS on my team (and speed!), but he has more agility. Figured I could put my awesome speed to use by insuring that I can both run down anyone who starts to break free, and then make sure they go down. Sadly, I think at level 24 its a bit too late to turn him into a full fledged big hitter. Meh.
